Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Granted I haven’t played in a while as the latest patch wasn’t doing it for me, bought PES 2009 instead, but I always lower skills, but not by much, mid 80s tend to be my world class players an I find that I get all wicket types (all formats) so it’s an exercise worth doing, if you can find the right formula.

Also, has the patch dropped for Xbox series x/s? Not had chance to look yet?
Yeh it’s dropped don’t mind the gameplay think it’s enjoyable I just know I lowered all the skills too much I ripped through Aus and India way too easily felt like I was cheating. Well I suppose I was lol
 
Are they ever going to rectify the pitches. Still so much to do with that aspect. Being neglected since C19. Its pitches, the major element of the game. Still no visible cracks.
 
So. Went through the changes of the new patch with regards to licensed players' improved facial appearance. Ben Duckett got improved. He looks great. Dan Lawrence and Joe Clarke got worse. Their appearance pre-patch was much better. Zak Crawley has improved. Luke Wood, Matt Carter and Samit Patel actually have a proper licensed face now and they look brilliant. Same story as always. Some great stuff from the patch, but some things are worse than ever.
 
For the past 6-7 weeks, I haven't played in a while since I was on travel. But have kept a track of these patch notes, what I feel is that a lot of cosmetic things are being done in these patches rather than the addressing the gameplay issues. Am I right?
 
Bowling as spinner is definitely very odd in T20is , 50% of the time they will end up with figures 24/1 or 2 or 3 wickets , 30% of the time it's 20/0 and 20% of the time it's 30-36/1 , It's been a pattern and I am yet to see any variation outside this , Feels extremely scripted to me.

It's freaky 80% of the chance that spinners will bowl well either will get 2 or 3 wickets or if no wicket then he will be economical with only 20% chance that he will go for runs if there is a settled batsmen batting in the 15-20 overs

Also if you keep bowling on players weaknesses they will unable to score runs in T20s between 10-15 overs and might get out too , after 15 overs they will smack few boundaries before eventually getting out if you keep bowling to their weaknesses, again feels very scripted because of no variation.
 
BTW guys confidence plays a huge role in T20s , batters who starts with high confidence due to high level starting confidence in proficiency tab will likely to do well and on consistent basis in T20s.

and every pitch feels so different to play and there is even odd bowl staying low on some pitches which was never there in BAS cricket games before.
 
Game is in a great shape at the moment (apart from Spinners OP and lack of variation in pace bowler speeds) , everything is working as it should be , be it mentality , stamina , variation in pitches , skills/attributes/proficiency impact , just need to remove late reaction from boundary fielder which was added in yesterday patch and super human keeper against spinners , apart from that the game is extremely solid and the best game of cricket i have ever played.
 
In career mode when you play T20s and comes an AI better with high batting average you actually fear of how to get him out (if you don't want to use the OP spin cheat against him) and you start thinking about containing him so that he doesn't get away with game on his own. it's tough decision to bring your star bowler to try to get him early or resort to being defensive against him and if he is a high starting confidence batter then you are almost doom because there is a high chance that he will run away with the game.

Interested to hear some work has gone into variable bounce, seems an odd time for it to finally appear tho, this far after launch and with no real mention?

Unless it has always been present and only just noticed?

Not seen anyone else really mention it tho, the opposite in fact. Plenty still complaining pitches are still being ignored.

Variable bounce is definitely there if you bowl leg cutters and set the pitch bounce in physics slider to 45 and bowl bounce to 40, some bowl will bounce twice before reaching keeper and some will reach keeper at below knee length. Try dry and hard pitch.

I’ve seen it a lot to be fair also seen the ball stay low and do funny things particularly as the ball gets older and swing reduces not sure if that’s always been there only been paying attention since I started trying to get better at bowling and only ever played career mode in C22 so playing as teams and all bowlers is new to me. The one thing that is missing is pitch wear visuals that would be massive for me now as I’m happy with the gameplay
