Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Exactly! I don't even think there's a point to setting fields in C24, the AI will score what ever is precoded no matter where and how you bowl. For an instance, I just played an ODI against England on a Grassy/Dry pitch. Eng were 240ish-4 after 40 overs, with Stokes and Buttler on the crease. They went on and finished at 393-4. This was with bowlers like Shami, Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep and Jadeja. No matter where I bowled, no matter tha variations, no matter the field settings, they were hitting like it's was a Rawalpindi pitch with 20m boundaries.

For an example, I had a deep fine leg and a deep square, bowled a bouncer and they would hit over the mid wicket, a 150kmph+ bouncer, If I keep a deep Mid wicket, they would found the gap between them, or a 6. Tried bowling with spinners and they would hit inside out over a packed off side on a perfect leg break off Kuldeep.

This is something that I have observed only in C24, either the AI gets all out under 200, or they would score 350+ there's nothing inbetween.
Yeh I mostly play t20s now and there's nothing worse than when you have them 7 down after 14 overs thinking you've bowled well and their 9 hits a 15 ball 50

Quantity over quality from Big Ant
Unfortunately people are deluding themselves if they believe BA will put out an improved game later this year. It'll have some extra bells and whistles, sure. There will be kids appeased as a couple more IPL sides are licensed but the actual essence of the gameplay will stay the same. In fact if previous versions of the game are anything to go by it could actually get worse.

We'll start to see the usual red flags around September I reckon. Things to look out for:

  • A big marketing push on more licenses.
  • Vague release dates
  • No mention of gameplay improvements and a dodging of the question when asked
  • Mention of exciting new features that either won't happen or won't happen how they say.
  • New batting/bowling styles
  • Licenses
  • Ross suddenly becoming friendly again on twitter
  • More presence on this forum again by BA employees.
  • Licenses again

Sums up the BA strategy. Are they becoming worse than EA?
