What are the exact controls? I tried playing the game day before yesterday and turned it off in just a minute as I just couldn't get the controls. Can you help on them please?

I think there's something wrong with batting. I'm a left handed batsman and the bowler has balled 12 balls in a row way down the legside so I can't hit it and keep getting runs for wides.

@Yudi: Not a problem, you can change the controls in the Options->Controls menu. There's also preliminary help in Options->Controls->Help.

For batting:

Direction keys - move batsman
A - front-foot shot
B - back-foot shot
C - lofted front-foot shot
D - lofted back-foot shot
A - run (double tap to sprint)
B - run back (double tap to sprint back)

Hold in A/B/C/D to power up a shot.
Press a direction key to play the corresponding shot (keep holding A/B/C/D as well)

I'll type up the bowling controls in a bit...

and how the fearsome tweak do you bat. I can't hit the ball. I'm holding onto 'i' and then pressing a shot button but it won't play a damn shot.

Thanks for the kurtkz. The game certainly is interesting. I am being able to hit the spinners now, but whenever I press A (or even double tap it), the players just don't run.

@Yudi: A/B/C/D are the mapped keys. So if you've set 'i' as your A key, you'll press 'i' to run.

@hedger_14: I tested it again now and the batting seems to work fine...can you tell me exactly what you're doing and we can try to sort this out?

The game is working near perfect now. I am getting a hold of the batting as well as the bowling controls. Started off with a bizarre wide while bowling, but now I feel that it is quite user-friendly.

Running between the wickets is still an issue. Tried "i", changed the controls to "r" and some other keys but the batsmen are just stuck at the crease.

Ok, I've managed to get it working but you need to start pressing the A/B/C/D key when their running in so you have to pretty much guess, otherwise it won't play a shot (as it won't when I press 'i' as soon as I see the cursor and then play my shot).

Anyway, a small review.

Bowling - Really great, I enjoyed bowling. They maybe played a bit slow for a T20 match, but did hit a fair few boundaries. Mixing things up helped, and I did manage to bowl England out within 18 overs for 119.

Batting - Could be a lot better. Need to work on it, and it needs to look better at all. It really looks weird when the batsman are playing a shot.


Anyway, hopefully you can make it better, but for now I'm just going to have a bowl

@Yudi: Hmmm, that's odd - I just tried the running now and it seems to work...I used the A key ('i' by default)...I think running is disabled when the bowler is holding on to the ball...

@hedger_14: Thanks for the feedback I tested the batting again now and you can play a shot after the bowler has delivered...is the game running too slowly or too quickly on your machine? Also, the AI tailors it's approach based on various factors, including how many batsmen are already out, overs left, skill of the bowlers, etc. Are you playing the game on easy or the default pro level?

I agree that the graphics are crap - I'm going to try to redraw it as best I can soon. I might have to pony up and pay someone to redo them for me though.

Hey guys, just a quick update HERE:

- hopefully fixes leg side wides issue when batting
- fixes toss <- you should win 90% of the tosses now

And sometimes. I accidently run but I can't go back (even when I tap 'o' a million times)

And I mean, you have to choose what type of shot you want to play (like front foot, back foot, front foot loft, back foot loft) cause even as soon as the cursor shows up, if you hold down a button then press a shot button when you would normally do it (when I do when I charge up before the bowler's cursor shows up), it leaves it and no shot is played.

I tried running after hitting a shot towards the third-man. And to answer a question you asked Brendon, the game is running too quick on my system. The ball seems to be coming at more than 250 kmph.

I'll download the update and get back to you ASAP.

Yudi, play the game in normal/slow mode. I play in normal when bowling and slow when batting.

@hedger_14: Aaaah, I see what you mean...yes, that is a major problem. What do you suggest? Should I take out the power mechanism - I think everyone just tries to whack the ball anyway? This would mean that you could play your shots as late as you want?
