would like to have proper batting order and bowler selection
for batting you could classify them as opener, middle order, late order and tail ender

@Agrim: Do you mean for the AI? You can already select the batting lineup. I don't have enough information to be able to set that for each individual automatically though. I'll probably add it to the editor, but that definitely won't be ready by tomorrow.

1.Real statistics of players with Update option.
2.Field radar can be bigger.
3.Run box can be square and small in size.
4.Clock can be below the box and can be in the digital font.
5.Whats near to the WK?Bar like thing?
6.UDRS and 3rd umpire.
7.Can you give a view of timing bar?

Thanks for the feedback, Meet.

1. This will be in update 7.

2. I'll increase the size a little - remember that some grounds are bigger than others and this is reflected in the field radar.

3. I'll decrease the height to make it square.

4. I'll see what digital fonts I can find...

5 & 7. It's the timing bar. I don't want to put the timing bar in the pitch box because then the player won't be able to focus on the action. I'm not happy with it being above the batsman's head either, but it'll have to do for now.

6. This will probably only be in update 7.

Give a try though!

@Meet: I did, but it's insanely difficult to focus on the game and look in the top-left corner at the same time. The mini pitch box isn't detailed enough for you to time the ball properly either.

Well shouldn't bowlers be bowling most bowls on off stump/just outside off stump?
He's been raised up watching Indian bowlers.

Not a good idea...Cricket Coach has it and it screws things up when a Late-Order batsman who is really good ends up batting below a weaker Middle Order batsman.

@ZoraxDoom: I semi-agree with you...at the moment the AI just selects the best batsman based on the current game situation. It would be a lot more accurate if it selected the batsman based on the game situation as well as his preferred position. I'm going to add this ability into the next update, but I won't have time to edit the player data now.

@hedger_14: Yup, the fix for the tests also fixed it for slogs, T20's and ODI's :)

tbh, I just think you should have either opening batsman or batsman, that way it will be accurate with middle order batsman not opening the batting unless there aren't 2 openers in the starting XI.

@hedger_14: That's a good idea - there's far too many players to edit by hand. The system I've implemented caters for both options though.

Hi everyone,

I've just uploaded update #6. You can find it in the first post along with a mini-changelog. I've made quite a few changes this time, so I'm expecting quite a few things to break :/ Please note that old save games will no longer work with this version due to the large number of changes.

Some additional notes:

- there are 3 new options in the game play screen: TIMING BAR, RUN LIGHTS, FIELD SETTING
- TIMING BAR: ON/OFF <- this shows the timing bar above the batsman's head. The bar moves very quickly though, so is impractical for now
- RUN LIGHTS: ON/OFF <- this shows the running lights below the pitch box. Red = don't run, Yellow = chance of a run, Green = safe to run. Please note that this doesn't always work :)
- FIELD SETTING: SIMPLE/ADVANCED <- simple mode lets you set one field for all batsman and bowlers. It will automatically switch around for left handers. Advanced mode gives you more control over the field placings and will let you set a specific field for each batsman and bowler combination.

- there are new columns in the player database:

+ SKILL_MODIFIER_VERSUS_PACE = a multiplier to reflect the batsman's comfort against pace bowling
+ SKILL_MODIFIER_VERSUS_SPIN = a multiplier to reflect the batsman's comfort against spin bowling
+ ODI_STRIKERATE = ODI strike rate of the batsman (this is used as a basis for his aggression)
+ PREFERRED_BATTING_POSITION = position in the batting order (you can set this to -1 if the batsman doesn't have a preferred position)
+ PREFERRED_BOWLING_POSITION = bowling change number (you can set this to -1 if the bowler doesn't have a preferred position)

- Simulate All will prevent you from stopping the simulation midway. Due to various factors this form of simulation needs to run to completion. You can however still access the menus by pressing ESC. The other simulation modes can still be stopped.

- Challenges will not work - I need to re-import them.

Could we have a middle level? For a field type for each bowler. Cause I like my bowlers to bowl to different fields than each other but don't want to keep swapping it around for new batsman.

Anyway, good to see this released. I'm going away early Sunday morning and will be playing cricket and getting ready to go away for most of tomorrow so I'll play it now to give some small feedback before I have to go. Then hopefully a new update is on it's way by when I come back.

fixed A Team & Board XI selection

btw, what what fixed with that? I didn't think there was anything wrong with it before.

Ok, the game doesn't even open. It just crashes as soon as I click on the cricket.exe.
