Cricket Heroes - testing & feedback

Could we have a middle level? For a field type for each bowler. Cause I like my bowlers to bowl to different fields than each other but don't want to keep swapping it around for new batsman.

No problem, I'll add that to the next update. Should I call it 'INTERMEDIATE'?

[/COLOR]Anyway, good to see this released. I'm going away early Sunday morning and will be playing cricket and getting ready to go away for most of tomorrow so I'll play it now to give some small feedback before I have to go. Then hopefully a new update is on it's way by when I come back.

Yup, depending on how many bugs are reported I should be able to release another patch early next week.

btw, what what fixed with that? I didn't think there was anything wrong with it before.

The board XI picks the 3rd best wicketkeeper - some teams don't have 3+ keepers though, so it would never select a full squad. I just changed it to select the worst available keeper (often the 2nd best one).

Ok, cool, it opens now. I think you left something out of the last patch that was needed. Now I need to reenter that damn password though

Anyway, starting a test with Australia vs England for the 50th time. Can you please put Khawaja in the game.

Australia:

Simon Katich
Shane Watson
Marcus North
Michael Hussey
Brad Hodge
Callum Ferguson
Brad Haddin+
Nathan Hauritz
Mitchell Johnson
Peter Siddle
Doug Bollinger

England: (Did you edit the batsman and make all of them god :p)

Alastair Cook
Andrew Strauss
Jonathan Trott
Kevin Pietersen
Ian Bell
Paul Collingwood
Matt Prior+ (I don't remember him doing much with the bat until the final test)
Graeme Swann
Tim Bresnan
Ryan Sidebottom
James Anderson

Updates coming soon.

Australia have won the toss and elected to bat

1st over, 4 dot balls, then Katich drives Sidebottom through mid wicket for 4 and a man is put out there straight away. Not good signs early.

2nd over, Watson off the mark after 3 balls after taking a quick single out to mid on, then Katich gets an inside edge down to fine leg for 4 and a man is moved down there again, although they took out the deep mid wicket. 5 off the over.

3rd over, better over from Sidebottom, Watson unable to score any runs, picking out the fielders when trying to play his shots.

4th over, better line from Anderson not getting too straight to Katich so another maiden.

5th over, Watson pulls a shortish ball away for 2 early in the over but other than that, no runs scored. Australia 11/0 after 5.

6th over, Katich out, slower ball from Anderson gets him, edging behind to Prior who takes the catch. North off the mark with a single and Watson plays a nice glance wide of square leg for 4.

7th over, good over from Sidebottom, only 2 singles scored off it, both down to deep backward square leg.

8th over, stupid run assist lights up green so I run and then get run out by a mile. North out for 2, Australia 18/4.

9th over, Watson now out playing a hook shot that went straight up to square leg. Now we're in massive trouble.

10th over, fearsome tweak the run assist. It's got me out for a second time. And a third time. Now never trust the run assist.

So after 10 overs, I am 21/5 with 3 run outs. I'm going to start again.

@hedger: Crud, I was hoping it would work better than that - can you elaborate on how you were run out? That'll help me fix the problem...

EDIT: Also, remember you can turn it off in the Game play options menu for the time being...

The field is still shown for left handers in the editor. I want it so it shows a field for a right handed batsman in the field editor and will switch it around while in game (not while in the editor) if it's a left handed batsman.

Anyway, started a new game and bowling first.

@hedger_14: OK, I can do that. At the moment it shows the correctly rotated field in the field editor - but I'll can change that.

It's fine, as long as it's always rotated correctly in the editor.

And what do you mean elaborate on how you were run out, I pressed 'i' twice and the fielder through it straight to the keeper and I was run out by a fair bit, except for on the last occassion where I was run out by inches which is where I think you should put the risky run thing as I hesitated for a slight second.

----------

And also, them little icons while about to bowl (the simulate game, statistics and menu buttons) are right in the middle of the pitch and it's annoying when I'm setting my marker.

Hmmm, OK - but did the ball go straight to a fielder when it said you could run? Did it go down to a fielder in the deep?

Crap, I knew I forgot to fix something. That'll be fixed in the next update :)

No, it went to square leg twice and mid on once. The only one I could have got a single from was the one to mid on but it had green up and it would have been very close so it should have been yellow.

So going alright, haven't made a breakthrough yet in 10 overs so Mitchell Johnson has been brought on into the attack.

They're 26/0 from 10 with Cook 21* off 34 and Pietersen 1* off 28, lol.

Bowling figures:

Doug Bollinger - 5-2-16-0
Peter Siddle - 5-2-10-0

And I realise a mistake in the bowling figures, byes counted to the bowlers runs.

@hedger_14: Thanks for the heads up, I'll fix those bowling figures. Also keep in mind that I haven't spent much time working on Tests, so it's entirely possible that the gameplay for that is unbalanced :)

Finally struck, Mitchell Johnson with the inswinger. I've been bowling mainly outswingers so I'm guessing Cook played for too much inswing and just edged through to the keeper.

Cook out, caught behind for 25. And Pietersen started to get going with 2 boundaries off Siddle.

----------

So a better 10 overs, really restricting the runs. They are now 48/1 after 20 overs. Pietersen is 10* off 57 and Bell is 9* off 21. Johnson has been superb with the ball.

Bowling Figures:

Doug Bollinger - 5-2-16-0
Peter Siddle - 6-2-18-0
Mitchell Johnson - 5-4-4-1
Shane Watson 4-1-10-0

You need to get the test clock fixed. The game starts at 9 am instead of the normal 10:30 am and I've bowled 20 overs in an hour. That means 120 overs in a day which is really unrealistic. You should have sessions of 10:30-12:30, 1:10-3:10 (or is it 1 until 3) and then the final session between 3:30 and 5:30 with an extra half an hour allowed to catch up so that at least 90 overs are bowled in the day, but if they can't get through the overs in that time, then a day will be called at 6 pm.

So normally there should be about 27-28 overs in the first 2 sessions leaving about 35 overs to be bowled in the final session so normally that half an hour is needed to bowl the last 6-8 overs.
