Cricket Quiz

Ive searched for an answer and i didnt get much coming up, so if anyone gets this without researching then they need a gold medal :p

And i searched for a couple of minutes :p So i didnt really do much lol!

Good luck to those who are still racking there brains

Got it! The Amini family :dances a merry jig:

I did have to do some serious researching though :(

Finally found an article relating to the Papua New Guinea womens team who won the Brian Bell trophy. In the final they beat Japan, and it mentioned two by the same name, Kune Amini and Cheryl Amini - sisters in law! I have nothing that says whether one of them is married but further searching of the name Amini turns up a fair amount regarding PNG cricket.

I believe there is one who is head of the PNG cricket board? And another who is 14 or so and in the article I found in line for their sportsman of the year after taking a double hatrick!

=collapses on the floor in exhaustion= "Damn you Andrew!!"

Normally I wouldn't post the answer if I had looked it up, but I get the feeling no one is going to answer this one ;)

Fair enough, I think we should have a rule that Andrew can only set really hard questions every 3rd or 4th question! :p

Seconded! Funny thing is I was on Wikipidia and if you click on history for the PNG page it's all Andrew in terms of updates for the last year :)

After all that searching, I fully expect him to come online and tell me I'm completely wrong ;)

Well done!

Charles Amini played in the ICC Trophy tournaments of 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1997.

His wife and sister played in the recent World Cup qualifiers against Japan.

His son played in the 2005 ICC Trophy and the 2002 and 2004 Under 19 World Cups, and another son played in the 2004 Under 19 World Cup.

Another two members of the family have also played in the ICC Trophy.

Ok it's fingers on buzzers time, this one's for everyone except Andrew's team.*

Who were the first test team to be all out twice in a day?

* You can answer of course, just remember to play nice :)

I'm going to guess Zimbabwe cos they really suck now. Presumeably before they lost their test status. Not too sure though.

Do you mean that they lost all 20 wickets in the same day or that they finished their first inning on, say, the beginning of the day and then got bowled out again on the same day?

i got a feeling it isnt a minnow... umm i'm going to say australia

Wasn't it the West Indies in that Test match against England at Headingley (I think?) where Caddick took 4 in an over?

I'm gonna say Zim too, but against the Saffars in that match that got over in like 2 days...

"That's numberwang"

No so far noone has got it right.

Nightcrawler - I mean what I said ;) First test side to be all out twice in a day - 20 wickets lost in the same days play.

Since a fair few of you have guessed Zimbabwe I will tell you that they are only the second side who were bowled out twice in a day. That occurred when New Zealand bowled them out twice in a day for 59 and 99 at Harare in 2005.
