Cricket Revolution Demo Feedback and Discussion Thread

I meant CR is the first game in a while that has included them. AC09 doesn't have them and I don't believe Cricket 07 had the reverse sweep although I never played the game long enough to find that out.

Can the final game download from Steam be installed on more than one computer?

eg. My laptop and my desktop....

Would like some further clarification for this. I would like to be able to play CR on my laptop and desktop. Is this possible? Now that I have SteamI Just might start playing Counter Strike again :)

Basically the game is tied to your account, you can install it on any PC, or even take a USB drive with the Steam files on it (never actually tried this) and use it with any PC. The limitation is that you need to log in to Steam to play the game and can only be logged in at one place at one time. There's an offline mode so you don't need to be continually logged in to the internet and I think it only checks occasionally.

In short you are fine unless you clone yourself and have to play on both at the same time.

Well the bowling is too hard to place your marker. I like the huge range of shots in the game and the GFX is alright. Would haev preferred if the demo was better though.

This is great news, I just might get into PC gaming again :) Also just saw that AC09 is on steam as well. What have I been missing out on!

Thanks Matt.

Cricket 07 does have the reverse sweep but you always get caught by slip if you play it. Its Shift + up and left for a right hand batsman.

In Cricket 2005 Reverse Sweep sent bowl out of ground over mid wickets. Scored 700 runs in one 50 over game by that shot.

looks great, loads of shots but the bowling marker control is woeful and the special balls is a poor idea it makes it no better than BLC or Ashes. But will prob buy as only ?13.00 off amazon

The bowling really is quite poor.

Credit to them for trying something different, but it is a bit disappointing.

Only being able to choose pitch, movement and speed, plus two variations of special deliveries.

Fast bowlers can't swing it and medium pacers can't cut it. Not enough bowling types.

A bit disappointing.

I'm not buying it because the colour of the grass that they've used for the outfield is not my favourite shade of green.
You see the difference is that one of those things is a valid reason not to get a game (basically only being able to play online) vs one being something entirely cosmetic. For someone on a slower internet connection or someone who doesn't want to have to wait for someone else to be online to have a game, lack of offline game modes is an issue.

I haven't seen you attack anyone for not liking AC09's lack of gameplay modes and saying it is fine because there's an online mode. Offline modes add longevity to a game, one off online matches get old if there isn't anything much to back it up.

CR has offline modes too. This combined with the above bolded text confirm that the original complaint was as though he was looking for an excuse not to give CR a go.

I don't care if it's CR, Howzat, or any other cricket game, but the one-eyed AC09 attention got old way back. These other developers don't get the respect they deserve.
