Cricketing Queries

NEWSFLASH... You aint... Come back to real life.

Would you like to get back to the real point, and actually notice how I was correct?

Yes you were later on when you explained the complete rule. Not before that where you said players are not allowed to turn back around after delivery stride which wasn't in the case of the video i posted.

Although runner can back up at bowling end but if he's backing up even before bowler delivers, he could be given run out after a warning. There is a video of Kapil Dev running out someone by hitting the bails of running end during his delivery stride coz batsman was backing up too much. Umpire gave him out.

You can't do that(^) under the new rules. As soon as you hit the delivery stride you can no longer turn around and get the other batsman out be he in or out of his ground.

So actually I was right the whole time.

Naah... More like half right and half wrong. You are right, bowlers can't do that under new rule but next sentence doesn't explain the new rule correctly does it

I literally said the same thing twice and you decided it was right once, but not the other time. I'm sorry you're to inept to understand.

... I really shouldn't've asked that question

Just a curious question, Is a batsman allowed to hit the fielder unintentionally if he is fielding too close. I mean, if short leg is standing so close that batsman would hit him more often than not in his follow through of sweep shot or hook, then what should batsman do? Coz as a batsman i would feel uncomfortable with someone fielding so close and i gotta hit the pull to a short ball or sweep if the ball is in the slot.

I believe there is no rule against hitting the ball into a fielder standing in too close. If the fielder is close enough to be hit with the bat than he may actually be obstructing the batsman (?). In any case, I don't any captain who is playing for his team will put a fielder into a position of too much danger (i.e. where he can be struck with the bat on a follow through).

Yea in fact playing in their direction is the best way to get the close in fielders to become hesitant or move from that position.

Who was first to propose the 25 overs/2 innings idea for 1 day cricket?
I know Tendulkar talked about it in the press, but don't know if he was the first one to propose it. Thanks
