Cricketing Queries

Well yeah, I assume so... I was umpiring last year and our skipper top-edged a bouncer to square leg, but the bloke over-stepped and it was a no-ball. He had to scurry back!

Oh, this is one that happened when I was umpiring last season when injured.

I was at square-leg and a chest high ball got bowled at the batsman. He tried to pull it, top edged it and got caught. I signalled no-ball but no one heard me and the batsman attempted a run. When he realised he had been caught he begun to walk off, before the other umpire realised I had signalled a no-ball and called the batsman back. The fielders then tried to run the batsman out (he had only gone a short way) but missed the stumps. The opposition captain told the fielder to stop it, apologised to the batsman and let him return to his crease.

So what would have happened if the fielder had hit the stumps, and the opposition captain had been unscrupulous? Would the batsman have been out?

No, because if no one heard your no-ball call then it is assumed by the players on-field that the ball was dead, even if it wasn't.

Ok, as unserious as this one may sound, this one is 100% serious. Well, maybe not 100%.

If a streaker pops onto the ground, runs onto the pitch and pisses and shits and spews all over it, digs it up, kicks out the stumps and stuff and then gets caught, what happens to the pitch, like would they keep going?

Match would be abandoned, there have been times when people have snuck into the ground overnight during a test match and dug up the pitch. Those games were abandoned.

could be Japanese too, different parts of the world, similar porn

Some Australians too. >_>

What if one of the dogs that walked onto the field in a couple IPL matches took a dump at fine leg and a fielder needed to field exactly there, would they scoop it up or leave it? Or what happens if the ball hits the ████ and it ****in reeks yet they don't change it because it's not actually damaged? Like do the bowlers get to wear gloves or what?

I reckon a film of poop on one side might make the ball swing more. especially if its the chunky kind :D

More turbulence on the poop side of the ball, ie more swing.

We all know it is counted as run if ball hits umpire and it changes it direction but What if batsman plays straight shot and it hits the umpire. The batsman tries to run but the ball hits straight to stumps after hitting to umpire, will the batsman run out? If yes, then who will run out him? Umpire? :p

No because the bowler or a fielder would have to touch it before the stumps are broken.

If the bowler bowls the first bouncer of the over and it is above head height but the batsman jumps up and still connects with his bat, I know it wouldn't be a wide, but would this then be a no-ball?

One of our teammates was given out this way, the umpire stated that it would've been a wide but since he played it, he's out and I'm not sure. Could someone please help me out on this one?
