No get best. I've never ever done it even before tbh.
Well blocker, I've waited all day to have the chance to use my PS4 and try it. To be honest I was not in any way looking forward to this. Mostly because I've reset/wiped all the teams/settings/logos/stadiums for a second time and also because I wasn't completely sure it'd work.
It has though. It has worked outstandingly well. I've just played a Five5 on medium everything, nothing custom. I chose medium batting/bowling and Pro AI, because since DBC'17 has come out I've had so little time knowing what to expect from this game, that I haven't been able to play and learn the game reliably at all.
So, in this Five 5 I had default nobodies New Zealand rated 89 against default nobodies England rated 90 and they won the toss and put me in to bat. I decided that I'd settle in for the first two overs and then have a go, but try and work the ball into as many different directions as I could and to also try out the footwork for shots I needed to reach for. I played pretty aggressively after about 10 balls of just re-adjusting and got 52/3 off my 5 overs. Bear in mind I was actively trying to play shots into as many parts of the field as I could to test them.
Pretty much everything worked as I would've like.
Timing was back to normal. It was miles apart from what it was like before.
The shots played out with the right levels of power that I'd expect for the timing I used.
Mistakes (about half a dozen), all felt my own.
No completely incorrect shots were triggered.
I have to say that this situation that we've had prior to this reset IS some sort of bug or issue, it does need found and addressed. I personally think blocker, myself and a few others were addressed completely incorrectly in this forum by some who appeared to believe that we'd lost our ability to play DBC. I can only speak for myself, but if I was getting about seeming to call into question long-standing posters playing abilities and suggesting they need to learn the game properly and then found out I was completely wrong, well I'd apologise. That's not meant in any nasty way, but just how I feel.
Anyhow, the only issues I found in that first session was runners, not going for the second when you queued it up after completing more than half a run.
The on-drive still has one minor issue in my opinion. (The following is with a ball not too far away from the body on the off-side and the shot stick surely placed in the on-drive position). It plays fine with foot-work if you lean that toward the off. With straight down on footwork though, I feel it makes very little to no effort to play towards the ball and produced a leg-glance style shot for me. I can understand that a little if the footwork had been leg-sidish a bit, but really you're asking for an on-drive and that shouldn't take for the ball to be directly at the middle of the body for straight-down footwork. It especially makes little sense as it seems like the leg-glance would be an even more unlikely and unbelievable shot for a batsman to attempt in that instance.
There was another minor issue, but I can't recall it right now. Still safe to say that I'm 1000% more happy with the batting and I didn't have to change my technique a bit!
