DBC 17 Batting post Patch 3

ok i do have a theory on this, but im sure not many are going to like this, the common factor with christy and block i have noticed is they use lower settings, now i dont know if there are lower settings in PS4, but what i know is when you play at lowest settings in PC the game will feel vastly different like you have time for everything. Once you bump the settings up it will get to normal. I assume wealey is playing at higher/med settings and isnt experiencing this.

Here's my theory... you have no idea about the console version given you haven't played one so you simply cannot assume how console version plays on various settings - it's all conjecture on your part, not a theory. Secondly at the very least credit Blocker and Christy with enough intelligence that if they are comparing gameplay between two versions, they would have enough common sense that they would do so on similar settings.

I mean I would assume both Blocker and Christy would have enough grey matter that they wouldn't compare gameplay on Setting A on console with Setting B on PC. Maybe instead of looking for various reasons and coming with numerous "theories", maybe Occam's Razor explains the scenario, i.e., the simplest explanation is probably the correct one and which would be that there is a difference in the console and PC versions which explains the difference in gameplay experience the two sets of users is experiencing.

I in mid December, that's early release days of the game , just disabled the
batting timing feedback bar..It's simply broken.
Timing bar with all greens would make u feel disappointed and frustrated.

By keeping it off it made my gameplay much better.
Could then easily notice the timed perfect shots and not so well played shots.
Just feels a lot better with less of any type of HUD.

You got that right...Have switched all HUD except the bowling HUD..For batting just the way you play tells everything to you- should have gone forward, footwork wrong, wrong shot etc..You just keep improving when you by yourself start to analyse your gameplay..A meter telling me wouldnt just feel right as improvement is from I approach...If I am more leg side or off side player the meter shouldnt be telling how I should approach it, it should be me who has to decide the stance, crease position etc..And then comes watching the ball which again is something thats really good with the batting marker they have come with , which has been really welcomed too [though I dont use]..This isnt making yourself a classic batsman with proper shots all the time but use of crease and maneuver it around to leg from off like Smith taking a more off stump stance..You decide, create a gameplay , feel , approach of yours..

Yay!!! I was starting to get sucked into this bloody pc vs console conspiracy (storm in a tea cup)!!! :lol:lol:cheers:thumbs:thumbs

i dont believe the timing is broken as such, its just way too lenient

Agree to all of the above.

..
Pro cam play
Currently keeping shot timing at 40.
Foot work at 20.(as with 0 HUD feels good)

Ground shots seems just perfect but
Lofted slogs seems a little easy.

I wonder if we can have a seperate timing modifier for lofted shots.

Suggestions... views..

Lower graphics could be the reason as well. Checked with fraps i get only 30 fps.

@cricket_online @christy_lenin1 @Max Walker @anyoneinterested:

So this afternoon I remembered an issue I was having pre patch when playing the 2nd test of my rebel tour. Inexplicably South Africa started setting ODI fields at the beginning of the test and just bowling the openers continually without any change. I remembered a post @BigAntStudios made about some of the other issues people were having actually being corrupt logos, and also that I had downloaded several teams just before I started the match for the first time.

I deleted all my data, re-downloaded the rebel tour teams and started again - hey presto, correct fields and normal bowling changes.

So tonight I've deleted all my data, and downloaded only my WSC teams. Well it's a different game.

I've batted 50 overs tonight and experienced none of the issues of early timing window, odd shot placement, unable to pull, keep getting reverse cut etc. that I was getting continually before. Moreover I actually had fun! (Or as much as fun as you can grinding out less than 3 an over against Dennis Lillee..)

Might be worth a shot for you or anyone else experiencing similar issues.

So I'll need to do this and start a new career? So many hours gone if that's the case.

Well I deleted absolutely everything. Maybe there is only a subset of data that needed deleting but I don't know...

Tbh deleting the data didn't bother me as I don't play career, generally only play with a few teams I made myself and my experience prior to deletion was so bad if this hadn't worked I wouldn't be playing the game any more.

I mean I think it's still changed and is still tougher than pre patch... but it's in a way I can see myself improving at and understanding.

If it's had that effect it might be worth it. I might have a look at how to do it and see what happens.

Edit: Anyone know how to do this on xbox one?

I'm on ps4 unfortunately so not sure but there it was in settings and then application data management. Perhaps there is something similarly labeled on xbox?
