DBC 17 Batting post Patch 3

@ BigAntStudios , @MattW , @HBK619 do take a look at the feedback from @christy_lenin1 and @blockerdave . Both of them have played DBC 17 on PC as well as PS4 and have mentioned the PC version is different and the batting experience on PC is much better than on consoles. No wonder the ball goes in the direction you intend to hit more often on videos seen for PC versions and you hardly see the common dismissal where the batsman moves across the stumps and getting bowled behind the stumps.

To be fair @wealey88 has played both too and says he doesn't see the difference.

The important differences between me & Christy and Wealey is his PC is good, and he hadn't batted on console prior to the patch. So we really need someone who has been playing on console before and after the patch and with a decent PC to give it a whirl.

That may be so but there are a few things Christy mentioned which shouldn't be due to how poor or good your PC is...

1. You can play shots late on PC.
2. The timing window are a little bigger.
3. The controls are less sensitive.

In fact it stands to reason that on a poor PC the gaming experience should be poorer and not better.

I could technically play the game side by side. I genuinely don't feel a difference. I did bat prior patch aswell just for info but not much cos of its limitations!

Ah ok. I thought there's some overall fielding setting which applies to the fielding side.

Apologies for misrepresentation I thought you'd said in the beta convo you hadn't batted pre patch.

I have to say I'm surprised you don't see the difference it feels huge to me. As I say there is stuff happening on PS4 now that never happened pre patch and didn't happen when I payed on the PC.

If I could roll back the patch I would in a heart beat. Allowing for the limitations I was still enjoying it pre patch: I haven't enjoyed a single session's play post patch.

Sucks to hear you can't enjoy it. I am now batting well with the system as it is on console and having lots of fun. Sure it felt like I had to learn it all over again but that's no different to getting a new game. If a few little things are fixed it would be perfect.

My biggest worry is will a new patch change it all over again. Not sure I want to re-learn the game every 3 months.

PS4 or Xbox?

I'm more than prepared to accept I'm just shit - I'm shit at most games and was with 14 for ages - but it doesn't feel like just that to me. I mean I was getting to grips with it pre patch!

I'm on xbox one. The batting did get a LOT harder after the patch so I don't think it's all you. I wouldn't be ashamed to turn the sliders right down to get a feel for things. Might help.

I have put a few down, especially the timing one.

Just getting a lot of odd behaviours like shot directions and animations that make it a hard slog.

Same here, it sucks there is no option on Xbox to roll back to an earlier version. Regretting selling my 360 with DBC 14.

@cricket_online i dont know if you've found this, but on ps4 there is no need to time your footwork, you can just hold it in the direction you wish before the bowler even bowls the ball (ps4 veteran difficulty, medium/medium batting and bowling) this also reduces the stepping well across your stumps issue to almost nothing

Apart from the constant edging outside of off and some weird shot animations particularly drive and midwicket pulls getting merged. Its much better than pre patch.
But they need to fix the edging with all greens (perfect stroke). I cant play anything outside off which means my Wagon wheels are on side heavy which kinda puts us back to pre patch world ie not being able to hit all areas.
This is a major issue in T20s. Less so in other forms u just leave the balls outside off which boosts stamina and confidence.
My 3 batting sliders are all 42 and shot force 60. Its helped alot. But i feel if they fix the edging plague on greens i can ramp up the sliders to 50.

Timing is not a problem for me thanks to the 'Ball Marker Display Time' slider. But my batsman jumping to the offside is while playing to the leg side, especially the glance. No matter how hard I try I lose at least a couple of wkts every innings thanks to the same.

ok i do have a theory on this, but im sure not many are going to like this, the common factor with christy and block i have noticed is they use lower settings in graphics, now i dont know if there are lower settings in PS4, but what i know is when you play at lowest settings in PC the game will feel vastly different like you have time for everything. Once you bump the settings up it will get to normal. I assume wealey is playing at higher/med settings and isnt experiencing this.
