DBC 17 Batting

ok so after reading this forum and watching youtube vids - my batting has got a lot better now - made 7/172 in a big bash game last night - what I learnt was about the half moon or full moon shapes of the balls which helped me where to hit the ball and also the footwork triggers not just being at 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock - also just looking at the field and finding the gaps - facing spinners now is better now for me - no point hitting down the ground you wont get runs unless you charge - the sweep and flick of the legs will work - or thru point to a leg spinner to a RHB. thanks for all the feedback hope this posts helps others out - feel free to add some more batting tips here im still no expert at it.

Can I confirm something re batting? It seems to me now that if you play a standard RS shot it plays a push or swipe but without a lot of power. If you want power you need to hold RT+LT. Is that how it's meant to work now? In DB14 the generic shot was the main full power shot.

Also I've noticed 3 times now that sometimes if you play a leg glance it will actually show up as a 6 hit. Weird. I've gone out once to that already when I tried to leg glance a ball and the animation heaved it to long on where a fielder was waiting.

L2+R2 was always used for aggressive/powerful ground shots even in DBC 14. Regarding your leg glance, how are you supposed to play it (I mean the button/trigger buttons for the same)? Maybe you accidentally ended up playing a helicopter shot instead of leg glance hence hit the shot to long on.

Surely you can't heave a ball without hitting the LT. all my 6 hits are on purpose - these occurred when I didn't hit the LT (I wouldn't be raising this if I did) and 3 times. I ignored it

Side issue but if I'm starting a new career how do I get myself a bat from the academy downloads?

Use bat manager. Select the bat you want to use. Select assign to player and filter/search for the player you intend to use in career mode.

Same route applies to all bat management.

Not sure. Not got far in my career so far. Has been stop-restart due to the multiple-starc's due to the academy glitch and then the 2.0 patch.

I am now twelve or so games into the career I intend to stick with, so I might try equipment changes tonight to see if they work.

I am getting lots of lag in online matches mainly when I bowl and I can't see batsman playing shot or where ball is pitching ....like when I bowl it passes really quick and I only see when shots has been played... I really love this game but can't figure out how to fix... I do have a ping of nearly 27-50 ...
Any suggestion guys

Really loving the look of the gameplay, but as some people have said there needs to be some work on batting animations/shot availability. In terms of the specialist shots I think they should make a shot directed between deep backward square leg to long on a lofted sweep/ slog sweep depending on the direction you use. Anyone else managed to slog sweep to cow corner ?? On the offside point to keeper directed shots should be the lofted reverse sweep(already in place) then maybe point to long off could be the In-out lofted cover drive. Also the ramp shot seems to absent here (for me so far) I remember getting the occasional one in DBC14 surely moving the right stick to north for a bouncer should attempt this shot rather than a cut ?? As people have said cover drives just go to the same place it shouldn't be too difficult for those shots to go in the direction you aim as the animation went really change. Would also like lofted shots to follow the ball more ideally although that's a personal choice. Anyone manager a hook shot yet ? The pull shots look good be interestingly to see if there were any top edge hooks ?? All the kits and players look quality.

I feel like we need a stickied FAQ for questions to do with applying bats to career mode players etc. A lot of the same questions popping up. Nothing against the blokes asking them (I ask a few myself) but having it one place would make for tidier threads.

Guys.... only really just gave batting a go. Can I not bat far bowler and then not have the camera going berserk once Iv hit the ball? I want it to stay behind the bowler as it would on tv!

thats because fielding 1 camera is missing. dbc 14 has that but not DBC17 as the running camera need fielding 1 and 2 option for that.

I use "Far Batsman" for batting and "Broadcast" for everything else.
