DBC 17 Batting

Ya Ai attacking fields shouldnt be there in death overs, if you watch penultimate over against jordan to dhoni it actually had fields spread, think it changed field with stokes cause stokes was doing well in the match so far. im sure bigant would fix them for sure like last time.

Can you tell something about the backfoot play.
Like connecting the good length balls on backfoot.

yup you can BF drives play well to good length. im more of a front foot player so think i play that more, will try to get some vid on backfoot play later.

I've noticed backfoot drives work best to green length deliveries on HARD PITCHES, on SOFT PITCHES backfoot drives are not nearly as effective to green length deliveries. But this was sumized from the current console version, so may be different for pc users. If you could gkrama, could you please tell what directions backfoot drives can be played now? Also is the "funny looking shots" animations still in the game? Seeing as though you could play cover drives through the same region as the "funny looking shots"... I'm hoping not..

Maybe you can provide the feedback related to overly aggressive AI fields to Big Ant. The game doesn't have realistic conservative and defensive fields... the sort you see in nearly every cricket match.

@grkrama @wealey88 and @Dutch Is that ugly front foot dab half cut half drive animation still there or done away with in PC version? Also do we still pull good length deliveries when we try to glance towards leg side? Is the keeper still superhuman?

Talking about "superhuman" do the spinners stop nearly everything hit in the V? It's rare to hit spinners down to long on and long off and hopefully spinners fielding off their own bowling would be turned down a few notches, along with the superhuman wkt keeper not jumping past slips to snaffle late cuts.

Backfoot Drives test is on soft pitch and t20 in hard.

@grkrama can you check to if the personal attributes go up after each game now? This is for career mode btw

yup they do

you can play on both soft and hard pitches even in green ones except for ones that are full , in soft pitches you have to count for the bounce and play,it gets tricky when there is uneven pitch, but feels realistic on the whole. They vary really well in direction, all the shots have a good wide V of variation in direction.

you play front foot square drive now, legglance plays well for good length, keeper is good, dives around but doesnt isnt superhuman.

After watching the YT video above and hearing all the positive feedback about the PC version, I'm actually looking forward to Patch 3 more than I was looking forward to the DBC 17 release :)

@grkrama , one quick question regarding the batting piece... can you hit the ball down the ground to long on & long off against spinners? On consoles the spinners don't let anything get by them and literally stop nearly everything hit in the V. Would be great if the spinners fielding off their own bowling can be turned down a few notches and if it hasn't been done yet maybe that's the feedback you can pass on to the Big Ant team.
