dbc hacks: fearsome tweak v2.90 +minigame v0.03

one more ques franco
is there any possibility of creating a hack on batting
like perfecting the shots and more realistic shots etc...?

Just to echo the comments of others, @francobaldo1 ...really enjoying playing with this hack in place. I've clocked up very close to 800 hours in the game but with the hack I've started to see dismissals that are entirely new to me. Just played a (career) test match with 1.02 running. Bowling leg spin, I got one to drift into the right-hander and straighten...he plays a firm forward prod but doesn't judge the spin correctly...the ball takes the outside edge and loops up into the offside to be caught by the man rushing in from forward point. Brilliant. Also getting a better % of lbw's and bowled than before.

One minor thing, and I really don't know whether this is related to the hack or not, but DBC has crashed twice when it has been running (not sure whether it was with 0.04 or 1.01) in a T20 during the change over in a super over (I've only ever had a super over twice...and it crashed both times...not sure if the hack could affect this).

Is it wrong to fist-pump as the ball flies of a top edge just over and between first en second slip and bounces over the boundary for four? Netherlands starting well against Ireland in their World Test League game!

You batting with the hack??

great stuff Ankit. I still remember all your great mods for C07...made that game just about playable too!

Glad you remember my contribution towards C07. :) Learnt and enjoyed a lot during that period.

Hopefully Franc opens up the hack addresses to everyone so that I could join the party and create something for you guys again. :)

yes dont worry i also want to play a good patch soon. But i think the code can be complicated and probably even if i share it the
progress wont be much faster. Also often these hacks get patched, and is difficult to restart the work again.
Anyway the code will be shared soon.

What this hack shows I think is how difficult cricket is to get right. Early versions / high pressure, lots of edges but not much balance. V1+ better balance but less edges. Though still more than before and overall better game play.

In to the ODI section of my tour and still enjoying it a lot

as a hack on an existing game yes, but as a game dev an adaptive way to change these values depending on conditions, difficulties, ball conditions and bowler/bat form would it be difficult?

Yes as a game developer it becomes difficult too, not only they need to keep in mind that the things work bug free they have to make sure things are consistent across the game. It can sometimes become little tricky for them to either make it way too perfect or keep it just right. Knowing the balance is really important.

How are you finding the ODI's play out?

The balance is incredibly difficult: I think BA went for a balance that initially stifled the game as to make for games that went the length of the format but also took out the more unpredictable variations of the spectrum of possibilities. In doing so a certain amount of unpredictability went out of the equation. But how do you do that? The fact that a wicket is great for batting on, the batting team is strong, the conditions favour batting and the bowling team is weaker doesn't mean that the batting team will score a shed full of runs. Sometimes they don't. There are so many many examples in cricket of this unpredictable factor, which in fact has strongly to do with the human factor. A real world player is a human being who reacts to all the conditions both outwardly and inwardly and can either tap into the skills he has and has trained for in the moment or cant, and then the next time he can etc. I have no idea about programming but I can imagine there being some form of randomizer that also plays a part when adding up all of the programmed factors into the equation so that games are unpredictable and you ca never be really really certain of an outcome.....
