DBC14 | Full Game Play with BARS Video

Ross, just wondering, is the bowling action we saw in the vid for a fast bowler or medium fast? Also, do we have any control over how fast the bowler runs in (I know in the bowling controls there was no mention for this, but still wanted to confirm)

I think MikeM was saying it was 110kms/hr

You certainly can change the exertion levels of the bowlers in a risk/reward fashion - bowl'em to hard for too long and they'll be stuffed.

Most real bowlers bowl the right line, if they try to hard they should push the ball down legside like Johnson loves to. The batsman should be wondering we're the next ripper will hit unlike ic2010 you just got short/ to full with a small amount on good length.

Ross I am probably your harshest critic, but I NOW totally understand what you were trying to accomplish with this video, and, all things considered the action grows on you after watching it over and over again, so I get it, word of advice for the next video, having a Big Ant rep. or yourself state they are using the debug version before posting or while the video is being posted may actually answer a lot of these questions before they are even asked, I know that would work for me and a few others that actually read threads before we post.

Also a completely unrealted question, as you mentioned FIFA what would you estimate is EA's budget for that game?

And keep up the good work sir, job well done.

P.S. I have a brand new unopened PS3 waiting on this game.....

I hired ICC2010 on friday arvo on the ps3, just so i could get in the mode of things in anticipation for DBC14

Just wanted to play a few games and such

1 thing i discovered, THE WORST MOST POINTLESS GAME EVER!!

it cost me $4 to hire for the week from blockbuster, i hired it friday, and even though i had it for a week, i still took it back sunday morning

anyways as a true cricket lover and a man who had played cricket games all his life, ever since the 1st world series cricket on the old 386's, we are in desperate need for a great cricket game

I have faith this will be the one

If that delivery was 110 km/hr then 140+ would be nasty and ball trail will come into play as batting aid.

A few years back I heard that the budget for Madden and FIFA were in the US43+ Million dollar range excluding licenses. I know the budget for the menu in FIFA was at one point larger than the budget for an entire game from us.

Ross has said its not there when you bat

I did say that and I was wrong, I thought it was only on in the bowlers view whilst batting.

HBK clarified that it is on when batting in the batting camera view also.

Read this,
Via bigfooty.com:
I don't want to speak out of turn for this one, but my *belief* from testing the game, is that the comet trail is there on batting, bowling and fielding.

I think Ross has just gotten so used to the system that he doesn't notice the trail (which in it's unobtrusive nature is easy to do).

Personally speaking, I think it's one of the best elements of the game and makes batting really dynamic as you don't know where the ball is coming until it leaves the bowlers hands and have that good little split second element of reaction to pick up the trail and mould your shot to where it's going. It adds to that feel of real cricket and gives you more immersion to the mechanics, especially compared to what we've seen in the past with cricket games.

The trail isn't in anyway 'overpowered' or some such thing, where you are able to easily exploit the bowling due to it, it's just a helper element so you can pick up the ball every time.

Obviously it'll be up to the team to decide whether or not to allow the removing of the trail, but speaking from personal experience, I don't think I'd be removing it anytime soon.

That was a 110+ km? Gotta be shitting me. Looks around 125 to me. Wonder what a 150km dale steyn outswinger would feel like

Watched some mlb videos and loved the feeling of the ball speeding towards the batter from the behind the batter camera. It really feels like around 100mph.
