Hello Viewers and here i am half way through the first innings of this epic match between New Zealand and England. The English batsmen have taken control with Vaughn and Pietersen putting on a 97 run partnership from 17 overs to make England 134-2.
After a solid start from Bond and Franklin, Fleming decided to call upon the spinners but KP and Vaughn turned it up a gear taking 46 from Patel's 7 overs and 31 from Vettori's 6. With Bell in next New Zealand will have to take a few quick wickets if England are to be stopped making 275+.
Good luck to both sides in the very important last 24 overs.
Hello and after only 3 balls of KP getting out Bell has followed him leaving England on the back foot. Patel got one to skid through and Bell edged it straight to the hands of McCullum.
With the situation as it is now thre is serious pressure on both batsmen Vaughn and Collingwood to try and get the innings back on track after that slump. The spinners will need to get a few more quick wickets to keep England under 250.
And here i am 34 overs into the match with the innings in perfect balance. England have just upped the run rate taking 39 runs from the last 7 overs to put them 179 from 34 overs.
This was the perfect position for Flintoff to come into bat and really take the attack to the New Zealand bowling attack. This was not to be after Vaughan went for 77(108) LBW plumb in front of middle to Daniel Vettori Flintoff came out with all guns blazing. Having a huge swing at the first ball which turned past the outside edge, and then final ball of the over was an arm ball from Vettori and he skittled the Big man out for 0.
Now with Nixon in and 16 overs left the game could go either way. With Bond and Franklin coming back into the attack anything could happen.
well well This is Cricket. England was in a great position to get 300+ but thing change. 250 look hard for them now. but getting there would be good for them
So with 40 overs of the England innings played the score is 179-5 and England are in trouble. With Flintoff and Collingood gone New Zealand are into the tail and still have 5 overs between there two front line bowlers Bond and Franklin.
Nixon and Mahmood and with 60 very precious balls left England need to get at least another 70 runs. These are going to be very exciting overs and i hope you stay tuned for them.
And a Few points for the benefits of Sky Sports, Please do the guess who, currently there are only 2 people who have a chance of winning.
A new Point is that at the end of the match there will be an Interview and ONE of you will be in it.
SO please can you just answer the following question..
LAST 10 OVERS We just saw an incredibly entertaining last 10 overs as Englands lower order racked up an extra 66 runs for only wickets over the last 60 balls. Nixon showed severe maturity as he scored a solid 28 to make sure England have a score that is very respectably and will be tough to chase for the Nex Zealand side.
During the lunch break we will be in the Studio with Guest star and Englands Greatest Wicket Keeper of recent time Alec Stewart. There will be a review of this innings and a preview of New Zealands chase.
The latter stages of bowling from New Zealand were not good enough and the lack of consistency towards the end was a major set-back to them. Styris bowled very well and his part in the batting will be very important to the New Zealand chase. So I hope you have a nice lunch.
Also There will be ONE lucky viewer who will be involved in the END OF MATCH interview. All they have to do is Volunteer themselves and they will be drawn from the lucky hat.
So PLease to all volunteers just say you want to be in the draw and then you will be selected.
