Death...

Can anyone go into a bit more detail on near death experiences for me please? I'm intrigued.

Wikipedia is your friend.

A near-death experience (NDE) refers to a broad range of personal experiences associated with impending death, encompassing multiple possible sensations ranging from detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, extreme fear, total serenity, security, or warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of a light, which some people interpret as a deity[1] or spiritual presence.[citation needed] Many cultures and individuals[specify] revere NDEs as a paranormal and spiritual glimpse into the afterlife.

Everything people write in posts on this forum are their own opinion unless stated otherwise.

Science is the foundations of everything, it is finding some truth in a maze of misguided specualtion we live in.

What? Its hard to belive that! People did live before you're "science"!

Great post JonAd, very well written.
I don't think anything can be done about seeing what happens after death because obviously people can't tell people of what happened, and NDEs may be incurred by memories etc.
I think it is just when the brain stops which results in a shutdown in the whole body (because the brain controls everything), and maybe if in the future ways are found to revive the brain in frozen dead people, that should put an end ot the mysteries surrounding it.

so you guys say there is nothing such as "Soul".... or summin.

I didn't say people didn't exist before science. Stop confusing your own arguments!

Science finds truth in misguided speculation. Fact.

yeah but life is not science, there would be no science if there was no life.

You can't say "science" is everything, but you just did..

the missing 21 grams at the moment of death, although I believe it can be put down to erroneous reporting rather than a true phenomenon.

I've read up on this and it would seem that something is being missed as the conclusion only comes from a lack of explanation for the missing weight, a pretty weak basis for me.

Science is the foundation of everything. You know, at the building you go to 5 times a week, when a big man tells you about something called 'cells'? The science behind life that is.

i find it hard to belive you're brian thinks without anything making it think.

If my faith in Religion was to be at the lowest of all, No God, no thing. I would never belive that there is no soul. It's what makes me, it's what makes each one of us.

Lads, can we just ignore Usy on this one please? He's obviously got no idea and this thread was developing nicely until he spouted his genius ramblings.

Ok, it's just so annoying to hear someone spouting such crap.

I am scared of death. What if no one knows I have died? What if I haven't done enough yet to be missed?

science does not tell me how to live good, weth the fello men.
It does not teach me morals
It does not tell me to give charity to the poor.
It does not say killing someone is wrong.
It does not say gaing scientific knowledge is the basic principal of life.

yet it is foundation...

I'll start a vbookie event for when this thread will be closed.

Chances of being closed pre-Usy:
20/1
Chances of being closed post-Usy: 1/1

Usy mate, I'm religious and have nothing worng with science. However there are parts of science which cannot be proved and there are parts of religion that has been dis-proved or explained by science, i.e. Great Flood (melting ice from Ice Age) Nothing wrong with letting people express their views :)
