Chennai too good for Rajasthan!!!​

Yusuf Pathan batted brilliantly for his 83*​

On a good batting track Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Chennai Super Kings decided to drop Nazir and gave Kallis a chance to play as an opener. Kallis was basically rotating the strike and giving strike to Yusuf Pathan. That was making sure that Pathan plays his normal innings and hence the run rate was good as well. Whenever Yusuf Pathan felt that its time for a big shot he went for it and every time the bowl was going into the stands. At the end of the 18th over Chennai lost their first wicket of Kallis,Kallis departed for a well made 51. After Kallis wicket Pathan smashed few big strokes and Chennai Super Kings final score was 146. It was again a poor performance from Rajasthan Royals top order. Except Uthappa no one from top order stepped forward and played a big innings. Nayar and Swann in the middle order played a good knock but that wasn't enough and Rajasthan Royals lost by 14 runs. Man of the match award was given to none other than Yusuf Pathan.

Deccan Chargers Innings​

Mumbai Indians won the toss and on a good cricket pitch opted to bowl first. Deccan Chargers couldn't have hoped for a much worst start then they got. They lost both their experienced batsman's in the first over. Gilchrist and Ponting both got out for a duck in the first over. Middle order wasn't able to do anything special even and Deccan Chargers were in deep deep trouble after loosing 4 wickets for just 35 runs in 11th over. But Shaun Marsh played a good innings of 36 along with Taruwar Kohli who too made a handy 34. But Deccan Chargers final score was just 95. Shaoib Akhtar was brilliant with the bowl. 4-0-11-3 great figures in t20 cricket.

Mumbai Indians innings​

Sachin and Ganguly from the bowl one started smashing the bowlers all around the park. It seemed that they are running late for the IPL party and they want to rap up the things quickly. Ganguly was out in the 4th over. But after that the young Jayasuriya played well along with Sachin Tendulkar to make sure that they take Mumbai Indians to finishing line... Sachin Tendulkar played some fine strokes. Deccan Chargers captain, Adam Gilchrist had no clue what to do. :what Sachin was finding the gaps in a way that it seemed that he has a map in his mind about the field setting and soon he reached his fifty. No plan of Deccan Chargers seemed to work and Mumbai Indians insured an easy win. Mumbai Indians chased the score of 94 in the 9th over with the run rate of just above 10. Man of the match award was given to Sachin Tendulkar for his well made 60.

Build up for the match...​

So, I and my team mates got ready to visit the stadium. We went to the bus and all the players settled in the bus. Approximately in 20 minutes we reached, Feroz Shah Kotla. People were coming to the crowd and the atmosphere was building. I took my kitbag, got ready picked my bat and went to the nets.

This time thankfully there was place for me to practice. I practice a bit and after few minutes our coach, Whatmore called us in the pavilion because he wanted to talk to us.

Whatmore said see guys previous match wasn't as bad as we think. In my opinion we underestimated Bangalore and lost to them. Aditya you can't play so slow in t20's. I understand that you are new to this format but still you can't really play that slow. You are weak against spinner so try and hit fast bowlers in the powerplays (1-6) over. I have faith in you, you can surely perform. I said thanks sir; I will try to do what you said.

Whatmore was looking quite angry. Maybe because we lost our past few matches and he want to see us winning again. Whatmore said that we can't really underestimate Kolkata now. They are good batting side and if any of their batsmen clicks we will be in trouble. So bowlers best of luck. I hope Irfan you will continue your good form with the bowl. Then Whatmore said that now guys you can go into the park and practice.

Pietersen and I in the ground had a chat. Pietersen told me a bit about how to play spinner. He said that if you really feel trouble playing against spinner then try and attack them. Don't try and defend them, if you do so then you get in a defensive sort of mindset and then you loose your wicket. So try and hit spinner. Pietersen said that I remember that once Javed Miandad said that "spinners are made to be hit"... He said this comments seems funny but it's true. Once your start hitting spinner you suddenly feel that it's too easy to smash spinners.

Pietersen than said that let's see what you have learn. Let's practice a bit. You bat I bowl. I said fine. I took stance and got ready. Pietersen very first bowl was an easy full toss and I smashed it. Pietersen said yeh,that right. But his second bowl was a Yorker and I got bowled. He said yeh that's what you do. You get carried away and think to smash every bowl. By saying you should smash spinner does not mean you can hit 6 balls for 6 sixes in every over. You need to see the bowl first,if it is could then don't defend it, take a single of it. I said fair enough mate, I will keep that in mind, thanks.

Pietersen said its fine mate looking forward to today match. I said yeh. I practiced a bit more against spinners,Pietersen and Haurtiz and certainly I was playing a bit better against spinner. Let's see what happens in this match. Will I perform? Only time will tell?.

It was all set for the toss but before that our team was going to be decided. Whatmore called the team and we all went running to him. He said that the team for the match is as follows:-

We all were happy with the side. After the team selection Chris Gayle went for the toss... The pitch wasn't really good. When I was practicing the bowl wasn't really coming well onto the bat. The bounce was very poor, there were grass on the pitch and it wasn't a good day for batsmen's. We lost the toss and were asked to bat first. As I said the pitch wasn't really good for the batsman so I and Sehwag were a little nervous. Although Sehwag was not nervous about the pitch he was nervous about his form. He hasn't been in good form recently in the IPL and is desperate to make some runs. It was then all set for the match to start. I and Sehwag got ready. Sehwag said to me see Aditya don't worry, Play your normal innings today. Don't be afraid of McGrath and Warne. I said OK but the truth was that I was damn nervous. Mean I was going to face McGrath and Warne, legends of cricket. I and Sehwag went to the ground; I took stance and got ready for the match. I was just waiting for the umpire to start the match.....Umpire after few minutes said to the crowd, Are you ready Delhi? Crowd shouted yayeee yayee!!! :happy :banana2 Then he said match 26 underway, Lets play!

Chris Gayle played a good knock of 53 which helped Delhi Daredevils to reach to a good total​

Kieron Pollard was given the opening over. The bowl was not really coming well onto the bat. The bounce was very low and I was struggling to make runs. The first over from Pollard was a very good one only 4 runs came of it.. Next over was surprisingly given to a spinner, Murali Kartik. I struggled even more to play him. On other hand Sehwag was playing well. He was rotating the strike and his main intension was to rotate the strike continuously. But I was really struggling to play well. I was singles but the run rate was very poor at that point of time. 5 over ended and score got a bit of recovery from Sehwag our score was 40. Then the legend of pace bowling, Glenn McGrath was brought into the bowling attack. I got nervous but the good thing was that I was off the strike. Sehwag defended the first bowl of the over and gave me single on the second bowl of the over. I defended the third bowl and lost my wicket on the fourth bowl. I thought to play a big shot; McGrath realized that a big shot is coming. McGrath bowled a short delivery, I misunderstood the pace. I thought the bowl will be quick but it resulted in being a slow bouncer. I pulled it and on the boundary, third man, Sathish took the catch. A brilliant one! Firstly bowl was in his hands, but then he realized that his foot is coming to touch the boundary so he throwed the bowl in the air and then jumped and took the catch.... I was so damn disappointed with my innings.

After my wicket Sehwag started to be a bit attacking. Gayle was rotating the strike well and was using his experience. In the next over, Inzemam UL Haq brought Shane Warne into the bowling attack. Now both the legend of Australian cricket was bowling... Sehwag smashed few boundaries and reached in 40's....But in the 11th over he lost his wicket. Glenn McGrath bowled a good length delivery; Bowl kept low, Sehwag wasn't able to play the bowl and got clean bowled. It got even worst for us as we lost Pietersen for 0 in the very next over. After these two wickets, Gayle started plying big shots. Raina was just trying to stay in the middle with him, giving Gayle strike continuesly. No one knows what made Inzemam think to bring Manish Pandey into the bowling attack. But whatever he resulted in taking the wicket of Suresh Raina. No one after that wicket was able to do something good except Gayle. Gayle made a well played 53 of 50 bowls which helped us to reach to a respective total of 138....

Kolkata started off slowly and they lost few crucial wickets as well. Firstly Naman Ojha on the very first bowl of their innings. They lost Dilshan as well on the last bowl of the 4th over. We knew that now we are in the game and we can win if we bowl few tight overs from now. Kieron Pollard in his typical way he smashed few long sixes and Kolkata were back in the game... No other batsman really wasn't able to do something special. After playing a good knock of 43 Pollard lost his wicket. It seemed that Kolkata lost the match. But Sathish smashed few boundaries and got Kolkata back in the game. Kolkata required 17 of the last over and Gayle showed faith in me and gave me the last over. I said that now let?s do it! I have not done anything special with the bat so let?s do something with the bowl. I bowled the last over well, gave away just 3 runs. My captain was happy with my bowling but most importantly we won the game. :happy :banana2 Whole team was happy with the performance. A tensed win but still a good win for us.
