We were having plans that we will bowl as well but we lost the toss and were putted into bat. I was not able to understand should i be happy or not?

But the pitch looks dry , so it must be good for batting. So why did you want to bowl first?

Solid start for my side!

Delhi vs Mumbai
Till Lunch,Day 1

I was ready for the match. But i was having some problems in my stomach it was paining. :o I went to my coach and told him and he said you are well but you are nervous. See don't worry think that you are playing a normal match not a final of Ranji Trophy. Play your normal innings don't think about the run-rate and other stuff just remember to play your normal innings.

When Amre said this to me i was possibly getting some positive vibrations. I took my bat from my kitbag and started my walk to the stadium it was nervous times for me. Tehlan seemed confident and said me common man forget everything, think that you are the best player of cricket and this is a normal match. I said to myself,i'm not a famous cricketer so how do i think i am big cricketer?:swords

FRAME1-17.jpg

Tehlan took the strike first and we were ready to 'Rock N Roll.' Me and Tehlan intentions were clear he was taking most of the strike and i was rotating the strike. When the overs were ending we were having small chats and he was telling me some important thinks.

Soon i was settled in the middle and i don't know how i was not feeling nervous it just seemed like a normal match. I was watching some wonderful scenes. Like slip appreciating bowler always after every bowl same as keeper. So it was just feeling like the atmosphere is there for a big innings common "Aditya"... After those moments i started taking most of the strike and smashed few boundaries as well. Tehlan said to me nice mate you are settling well in the middle keep it up we at least need to put 50 runs opening partnership. I said to him yes mate we can and i am sure we will. I saw that Tehlan is getting carried away when he smashed a four in an over of Salvi. I ran in middle of the pitch and shouted "Tehlan be cool don't get carried away". But he didn't bother listening to me and in the next over of Salvi he gave away his wicket. He didn't saw the fielder and tried to flick the ball but the fielder, was there and he easily took the catch.

FRAME2-8.jpg

After Tehlan wicket i realized that there is no other way in which i can make runs except playing my normal innings. So i started hitting boundaries because the field was very tight for taking singles. I took few risky as well but i tried to avoid it most of the time. Dhawan even looked settled in the middle. First he was too trying to taking singles but then he smashed few boundaries and got settled in the middle. I at that moment realized that Mumbai bowlers are bowling quite full length so taking singles is that why a bit difficult for me because Amre mentioned to me i have to work on my back foot. But when i was on 49 i got on back foot and punched the ball through off side and realized that i am not too bad on back foot.

After i reached my fifty i raised my bat similar to Sachin Tendulkar maybe because he is my idol. After reaching to my fifty i just took singles because i knew i should not loose my wicket because we are very close to the lunch. Soon umpires called for lunch and me and Dhawan shake hands and went to the pavilion smiling.

This is how my Wagon Wheel,Beehive Placement and Pitch Map looks. As you can see majority of the balls are full length and that's the reason i was having difficulties to take singles.

PITCHMAP.jpg

Let me have my lunch now and then me and Dhawan will continue our batting. I hope that i can make a big score but in the end i am playing for my team so i have to help my team to make a big score hope i do well in it.

My innings comes to an end!!!

FRAME1-18.jpg

So i had my lunch. In lunch i had two burgers from MacDonald's and one glass of coke. :D Then me and Dhawan made walk into the middle. I had a change in my batting i decided to rotate the strike rather than being aggressive. When i was taking a single i played bowl on leg side and my bat cracked. I called for a new bat and then carried on my innings. When i was on 68 i smashed a boundary to Salvi and after that i don't know i felt that i am getting carried away and in the next over of Agarkar i lost my wicket. Agarkar bowled a slow ball and i got a edge on the ball and maybe that's why i got bowled. I was very disappointed i wanted to make a century but i couldn't and i said to myself there is still a second innings left. :)

A sudden collapse in middle order!!!

FRAME2-9.jpg

After my wicket we suddenly lost 3 more wickets. Suddenly the dressing room got tensed and in the middle the batsmen were Dhawan and Bisht. Bisht was told in dressing room that you have to rotate the strike and try not to loose your wicket. He did that quite well. After my wicket Dhawan started taking his innings forward and hitting some boundaries because he knew that we can loose Bisht anytime so it would be handy runs which will come now.

Some sort of a recovery!

FRAME3-3.jpg

Bisht did well to rotate the strike and give strike to Dhawan. Dhawan was looking very good in the middle. Atmosphere in the dressing room was recovering. Dhawan started playing big strokes when he felt that we need some quick runs and soon got to his fifty. After his fifty we thought he will be the men who will help Delhi to make a big score.

Wickets,Few Boundaries but Delhi not able to make a big score!!!

FRAME4-1.jpg

But then we lost him in the middle. Abdulla bowled a yorker and Dhawan was not able to play it and was clean bowled! After his wicket there was no sort of a recovery. Bisht played few strokes and Delhi managed to make 200 but I and Dhawan certainly excepted more. We now had 15 minutes break. Now the question is will we be able to restrict them to a low score? We certainly need to play well, fingers crossed.

I might sound a bit off but Aditya this is completely surender's presentation style. I don't mean you cannot do that but it seems you're not able to find a way to present your story yourself. Good work on graphics though. But same, they are absolutely similar to that of surender. Wagon-wheel is messed up but if you try it can be improved. The beehive looks good. The pitch map is of the bowlers and not the batsmen, I think.

This comment is for you to try to be yourself and not anyone else. Take it positively and move ahead. Good luck!

Coming on to the match, I cannot see the the total score which you guys have got after the lunch. I can see you are going good on 59 and hope you carry on. Overall, I think this was a hurried update, it could have been more brilliant had you put a little more effort into it.

Yeh mate,Bit hurried up update. I completely agree with the point that presentation seems similar to Surendar's. I use my own ideas in my Indian story but in that story i don't really get comments about my presentation so i get bit confused. Overall my presentation is getting very similar to Surendar's so in next update i would surely make it different and as you say will try to have my own style rather than Surendar's. :)

First, nice to see a change in presentation as this is your own style. One thing with the screens, some of them are not in proportion and thus makes it difficult on the eyes. A smallish thing though which can be sorted easily.

Salvi bowled exceptionally well there bagging 5 wickets. You and Dhawan played well getting to your respective fifties. Not a good total and effort by the other players. Looking forward to see how you guys bowl now.

Cheers mate for the advice. As far as image sizes are concern that was done intentionally. I was having bit fun with presentation to make it better and in the end came up with that. I would keep that in mind from now on. :)

It's bad to see Powar going as an underrated bowler here as well. He got 3 wickets but, he was used very little. :p And Aditya, you got dismissed to a fit for nothing bowler? Bad luck is what i can say though you got some useful runs.

Good start for Mumbai!!!

FRAME1-19.jpg

Me and my team was disappointed with the score we made. But we could not do anything with it right now. Our main target now was to restrict Mumbai side to a low score. Mumbai openers Kukreja and Jaffer came to bat. Jaffer started off in his typical way in which he is best at,rotating the strike. I didn't knew much about Kukreja but i felt that his batting is good as well. Both the openers were looking solid and the pitch was getting better for batting. I was standing at third man and was not able to talk to anyone. :( Suddenly Manhas shouted Aditya come here at slips. I ran and said to Manhas what happened? He said we need one more fielder at slips so stand here also we can talk in the mean time. :) I had a smile on my face because slip is a place in the field where the best fielders stand. :D Both the openers continued their good batting and Manhas was saying to me do you have any plans to get rid of any of these two batsmen? I said yes mate i have,Sangwan would be a good option. Manhas replied why? I said see mate Sangwan can get some swing and if he gets some out swing Jaffer will edge the ball and ball will come straight to me. Manhas said good idea and he gave bowl to Sangwan. Sangwan first bowl was a bouncer,Second bowl was a yorker and Jaffer just managed to play it,third ball was the one which got rid of Jaffer. Sangwan pitched it on a good length,Jaffer was on front foot and suddenly went on back foot and had no time to play the ball suddenly he decided to defend it and got edge and bowl came straight to me and i accepted the catch. My first catch!!! :happy :banana2

Few runs,but two crucial wickets!!!

FRAME2-10.jpg

So after Jaffer wicket Kukreja was looking under pressure. Next batsmen was Rahane,One of the best batsmen in Indian Domestic Circuit. As he normally starts slowly that was the case this time as well. He was just taking singles there were no intension's of hitting boundaries. Kukreja was not at all recovering and was looking under pressure. It was getting close to end of Day 1 play and we needed few wickets. So Manhas decided to give bowl to Rajat Bhatia. I and Manhas were shocked by seeing Bhatia getting way too much swing then we expected. Kukreja somehow got to his fifty but then also he was not looking settled at the pitch. After reaching to his fifty he smashed one boundary to Bhatia and Bhatia got angry with that. Manhas laughed and said to me now just watch and see how we get a wicket. :laugh I looked at him shockingly and i was bit confused as well. :what But in the very next ball Bhatia got wicket of Kukreja. Bhatia obviously got some swing and ball went in the air and Silly Point accepted the catch. I jumped in the air and shouted wow a wicket!!! :happy After his wicket next batsmen was Khanvilkar. It was getting very close to end of day's play and Manhas decided to give bowl to Awana.... All the 5 balls were dot and it was last bowl of the day. I at the slip with Manhas got closer to keeper and decided to have a Silly Point. Awana bowled the ball of full length and got some spin as well. Rahane tried to defend it but got some edge on the ball and Silly point took a great catch. Fielder at Silly Point was Bisht. The catch was similar to the catch of Kukreja. So we got 3 wickets,Now we need 7 more wickets. Can we now restrict them to a low score lets see. But as of now it's end of Day 1.

Wicket falling at one end but at other end Nayar holding the innings together!

FRAME1-21.jpg

We were able to take 3 wickets yesterday but still we needed to take 7 wickets. Team atmosphere in the dressing room yesterday was quite good. But we didn't had any type of party yesterday night. :p Arhh frustrating i have to say that yesterday night we got simple Indian food with Water no other type of drinking whatsoever. :spy My room partner was no one other than Ishant Sharma. We both went to the bed when the time was 11.00pm. Quite early i know. :p But that's how it goes. We woke up early in the morning got fresh and straight away went to the ground. Ground was 15 minutes away from the hotel. We did practice for 2 hours and then came to the field to start the day 2 play... Nayar and Khanvilkar were at the crease. Mithun Manhas thought to try something new and gave the very first over to Rajat Bhatia and it resulted in a wicket. Rajat Bhatia bowled a good length delivery,Kahnvilkar was on front foot and tried to defend the ball but got some edge onto the ball, and ball came straight to my hands and i accepted the catch... Agarkar was the next batsmen he was taking singles and was rotating the strike well. He knew that he just needs to support Nayar at one end and rest can be done by Nayar himself..

When Agarkar was on 19 he lost his wicket.. Mithun Manhas again thought to try something different but this time he introduced himself into the bowling crease. His first over was fine but in his next over he managed to take 2 wickets of Agarkar and Powar. He bowled a full toss to Agarkar and Agarkar thought to smash it on the straight but was not able to because the timing was not correct and ball went straight in the air and Rajat Bhatia took a good catch. Next batsmen Powar was even not able to do anything infect he got out for a duck.. Powar too thought to go for a big stroke and lost his wicket... Next batsmen was Abdulla with just few minutes left for lunch Nayar and Abdulla did well to stay at the crease and Mumbai went to the pavilion for lunch.

Runs as well as wickets after lunch on day 2!

FRAME2-12.jpg

So after lunch Mumbai intension's were clear. Nayar took most of the strike and soon reached to his fifty. We,Delhi Team planned in lunch that we will continue our surprising bowling changes because it is getting frustrating for batsmen. After lunch Nayar was not able to do anything special and after making just few runs got out in an over of Mithun Manhas. Yes Mithun Manhas,Our tactics were working and that's what we needed. After Nayar wicket there was nothing special but yeah Abdulla played really well and made 28 which also made sure that Mumbai get some lead. But just of 11 runs. Now the question is how will Delhi bat in the second innings? We need to take big lead and win this important Final of Ranji Trophy '09/'10 season. Can we do this,we think we can. Now lets have a look at the man who was out for 0 with the bat but bowled sensationally well to take 4 wickets. Have a look at his pitch map...

PITCHMAP-1.jpg

As we can see he went for plenty. But took some crucial wickets as well. That's what we expect from a captain. The pressure was on him after he was out for a 0 with the bat but he bowled pretty well to overcome it.
