Story Delhi Daredevils journey in DLF IPL 3,Match 31

When i was writing i suddenly realized i forgot to make an hawk-eye. I will improve it in upcoming updates,it always gets messed up in animation part.

Finally a call!!!​

So after match got finished i was feeling tired so went for a short bath. Came back to my room,opened the tv to change my mood and feel fresh. I tuned in into Cartoon Network because when you are tired,cartoons are maybe the best way to fresh you up and i saw Harry Potter and goblet of fire movie was coming. I personally liked Harry potter movies so started watching it but then suddenly my mobile phone rang "tring tring,tring tring"... Noise was too irritating at that point of time but i picked up the phone to see who it is and it was Sehwag.

Conversation on phone with Sehwag​

Sehwag : Hi Adi,So 72 huh. Well played.
My Reply : Thanks mate,so anything important to tell?
Sehwag : Let me be honest Adi and tell you that your batting was not good enough to convince neither me or the coach.

My Reply : Maybe i didn't tried my best.
Sehwag : Ha Ha,Got you! I was kidding.
My Reply : Oh you got me. So why did you call?
Sehwag : Actually me and coach are really happy with your batting and we think you are fine for being in the side as a opener.
My Reply : Thanks mate,So what would be the next step?
Sehwag : Win the match for Delhi as simple as that. Just kidding,after the match gets finished my driver will come to take you and then you will straight away join us. I have talked to Modi and he is fine with this.
My Reply : Cheers mate,I am sure i won't disappoint you all.
Sehwag : I and we all know that you won't disappoint us. Best of luck for the upcoming days and try your best to make Delhi win '09 and '10 ranji finals.
My Reply : Thanks mate.


After the call i was not feeling tired anymore. Then Manhas called me down stairs for a walk,maybe he needed to talk to me or maybe a glass of drink. :drink But right now i was mainly thinking about me playing for Delhi Daredevils.

Remember to capitalize all I's most are but still

Sehwag here, in this context is supposed to be a person @ higher level. When such kind of people happen to call a newbie, you should start off the convo in different way,

eg :

Viru : Dude, what's up man? How you have been doing? << Some hindi words also - Sehwag learnt English with help of tutor in real life >>
Adi : <<<<<< Silence prevailed in me ... Whose voice is this? :sarcasm I wondered.. >>>> Who is this? ( In a very silent way I asked )
Viru : I am your new Boss of Delhi Cricket Academy. Your lazy knock of 70 plus runs is going to fire you up!
Adi : Wha.... whaaa.. whaaat? <<< Shock/panic made me to tell that simple english word - What in three words. >>>

etc..etc.

Basically, in these type of convos, you cannot use so many 'SO's. Likewise, we should not add sentences like - Why did you call or So, anything important to tell? This puts you in the highest position as if, you were extremely busy without a single second to spare.

Again, these kind of important matters won't be discussed over the phone call. Best way is - to be straight to the point in official dealings.

Eg,

Viru : Hey man, you are asked to report @ DD's coaching camp @ so & so place @ so & so timings. We need to discuss certain things.
Adi : Sure, Viru! << I said & kept the phone but my heart pumped up hard without knowing whether it's from excitement or from shock! >>

My Reply : Oh you got me. So why did you call?

Again, like I mentioned above, we should not add such kind of statements in this context - i.e. a convo with a person of higher level.

Just kidding,after the match gets finished my driver will come to take you and then you will straight away join us. I have talked to Modi and he is fine with this.

Once again, we need to remember the context very clearly. Why should Sehwag send a driver to you? You are supposed to run behind the time & reach the camp at correct timings. And Sehwag won't be telling you whether he has informed Modi or not. Those are all dealings between higher levels & they will take care of it & it won't reach the guys at lower levels.

Level in the sense -Hierarchy From management point of view. DD's coach, DD's 1captain, IPL chairman - Higher level & Contracted players - Lower level.

Bottomline : I don't know whether you will take this as a serious critics or positive critics or negative critics, but the context should always be remembered in person-person speech. The way you move, way you speak, way you deliver the presentation is very important as the career story is all about the first person's speech.

I will obviously take this comment as positive critics. I am not the old Aditya who always wanted comments like great story,fantastic writing,awesome presentation and so on.. Right now i want to improve my story day by day. I too don't like the last update bit hurried up and very poor grammar in it. Appreciate those posts from MaD and you Suren Bhai. I need suggestions on my story(so that i can improve). That's all cheers guys,I will surely improve my grammar and the things Suren Bhai mentioned.

That's what i am doing. It would have look stupid if i would have been included in the Delhi side straight away. People follow Ranji trophy very closely so i thought there is no other way to show what i can do as a batsmen rather than including me in Delhi ranji team. I can't straight away get into the Delhi Daredevils side before playing even a single first class match. I agree that it would have been better to play a odi match then a Ranji match but that's how it goes,playing Ranji for Delhi team was the best idea in my opinion before playing in IPL.

That would have been a good type of getting yourself into this story with your brief introduction.

Call i was waiting for!!!​

So after coming to the hotel after the match. I was feeling tired and went to my bed. When i was sleeping i saw a dream,that i got a call from Sehwag and i have been selected in the Delhi Daredevils team. Most funny thing was that he said me that his driver will come to my hotel and will take me to the Delhi Daredevils hotel. :laugh But then in real i got a call from Dinesh Karthik.

Dinesh : Hi Aditya,So how's life going?
Aditya : I replied i am fine,(Then i ask may i know to whom am i talking)??? :sarcasm
Dinesh : Yes,I am your new manager after your poor knock of 72. Dinesh and Sehwag have said me to take care of you.
Aditya : Wha....What Sir? I am sorry but i didn't got your point. ( I was a bit worried and frustrated at that point of time).... I wondered what is this happening( a manager)??? :what
Dinesh : Ah,Mate! Just kidding Karthik here(captain of Delhi Daredevils). You had a chat with Sehwag on mobile but i thought i am the captain of Delhi Daredevils so lets have a chat. I am interested in meeting you. When you stayed with us we were not able to chat so i need to meet you today itself. I have to talk about you inclusion in the Delhi Daredevils side as well...
Aditya : Oh sorry sir for not recognizing you. Of course we can meet today sir.
Dinesh : OK then come to the park which is near to the Cuttack cricket stadium. It is near from my hotel,But you will need to come from a bus. Meet me there at 9.00 pm today. Also don't call me sir you can call me Karthik.
Aditya : Its absolutely fine i will come there sharp at 9.00 pm.
Dinesh : Bye then ( and he kept the phone)...
Aditya : My heart pumped up after he kept the phone. I started wondering what will he say to me??? Then i went for a short bath to get refresh and then i had to take my bus to visit the park near to cuttack stadium.
