Story Delhi Daredevils journey in DLF IPL 3,Match 31

Arhhh!!! You Karthik!!! ​

So I had a bath and then straight away went to the bus stand. Bus stand was 5 minutes away from my hotel so i thought lets walk a bit and don't be lazy. :sleep Time was 8.00 pm and the bus came... I ran but no one was allowing me to go into the bus. All were pushing me out of the busy,too much rush! Then guess what I missed my bus,I was like whattt theee hellllll!!!! I got worried about what to do and then decided to take a cab. After 25 minutes I reached the place I wanted to,near the Cuttack Stadium. I went to the park near to Cuttack stadium and then started waiting of Karthik.

1 hour later....​

I got irritated how can someone be so careless? He said me to come at the park at 9.00 pm but I came at 8.30 pm half an hour early but he didn't even came half an hour later than the time we decided for the conversation. Then I decided to call him and guess what he was not even picking up his phone. After 30 minutes I got completely frustrated and again called Karthik this time he picked up his phone.


Aditya : HI Karthik Bhai?
Dinesh : Yes,Who is It?
Aditya : HI,I am Aditya we talked in evening and you said we will meet at the park near to Cuttack stadium.
Dinesh : Oh,I completely forgot about It dude. After talking to you on phone I got onto the bed to feel refresh and leave the hotel to meet you but then i was not able to wake up. Now I cant meet you today Its too late. So we will chat when you will join us for joining Delhi Daredevils side.
Aditya : Am I selected In the Delhi Daredevils side?
Dinesh : That's why I said when you will join us for joining Delhi Daredevils. Anyways our coach is calling me. Bye!

And he kept the phone. I had no other option to get back to my team hotel. I was not able to say anything to Karthik. I reached my hotel where i was staying at 10.25 pm then I had a small dinner and then straight away went to my bed,sadly because I was not able to know that what Delhi team thinks about my innings of 72 but I was happy as well because I got selected in Delhi Daredevils team. :banana2

Delhi Ranji Team bowlers need to pull up their shocks,tough ask ahead for Delhi team to win the Ranji final!!!​

So the day 3 play started. Me and My team mates again went to the field early morning and started practicing.. We practiced well and the main thing was that I tried bowling and I have to say I was quite good in my opinion. But my coach was not happy with me he came to me and said see Aditya,You are a fine bowler but the thing is that you bowl too full and batsman can easily smash you for boundaries so take care of it or else you will become predictable and I don't want that. I said OK coach I will take care of it and then after few minutes day 3 play started. Dhawan and Chabra went on the field to bat.

What a horrible start for the day 3 play it was. Dhawan came back to the pavilion just after 5 minutes of day 3 play and the whole team collapsed in approximately half and hour after the start of the play. Dhawan tried to smash bowl on the leg side but found the fielder and was out. After his wicket there was no sort of recovery,Bisht played well for his 26 but the tail didn't even managed to make 1 run. Our plan was to give at least a target of 350 to Mumbai Ranji Team to chase. But we managed just 254,We were certainly not happy with it. In my mind I was wondering that i will soon play for Delhi Daredevils team and I need to do something special so that I can prove that I deserve to be in the Delhi Daredevils side. I went to my captain Manhas and said Shir believe me we will do something special this time around. The target for Mumbai Ranji Team is 254 but we will make sure that we try our best to try and win the Ranji Final. He said yes mate I know that but 250 is very less,Mumbai team line up is very solid and we will really need to do something very very special. Let's see what we can do,Right now I am thinking of some new plans for Mumbai second innings because we need to get out Jaffer early or else once he gets settled we will loose our chance of winning this years Ranji Final. After that Me,Manhas and whole team went to the field. I said to myself now let's do it,try my best on the field and if I get to bowl lets pull up my shocks and show my captain that I can win a match of my own! I have to take this seriously,After all i am playing Ranji finals for Delhi side.

Yeh,I agree mate that's why I have decided to quickly post the last two day updates of Ranji Trophy Final and then I will get back onto the IPL matches.

Just what we wanted!!!​

So it was all set for the start of Mumbai innings. Manhas set an attacking field,I was again fielding at the slips. We had 3 slips,Me,Manhas and Dhawan. Manhas had believe in Sangwan and gave him the opening over. Sangwan's first over was good,He gave away just 3 runs. Other opening bowler was Ishant Sharma he bowled very well,Pressure was building on Mumbai side. Sangwan started his next over and got a wicket for us. Sangwan bowled a full length bowl,Jaffer tried to play the ball on straight but completely misjudged it and he was bowled. :happy I jumped in the air,We were so happy with the wicket. Just what we wanted! :happy In the same over Kukreja lost his wicket as well... This time Sangwan bowled a short delivery,Khanvilkar pushed it on straight but bowl went in the air and field took the catch... :banana2

Ishant continued building pressure in the next over as well,He was not allowing any batsman to hit him for runs and Manhas was looking happy. Then Sangwan got one more wicket and his next over was maiden as well. Sangwan got wicket of Kahnvilkar,Khanvilkar tried to defend the bowl but bowl went in the hands of Short Leg. :happy :banana2 Next batsman was Nayar,Nayar played his normal innings. He was not looking in any sort of pressure. He smashed Ishant for few boundaries. After sometime umpires decided to take lunch and we went back to the pavilion.

This was a short session,Now we have a big task ahead.​

Nayar single handedly taking Mumbai innings forward!!!​

So after the lunch we came to the field again. Manhas said in the pavilion,Now let's do it guys. We have taken 3 quick wickets and let's continue building pressure on Mumbai. Sangwan was bowling but after lunch he was not looking as good he was looking before the lunch... Rahane and Nayar were playing very cleverly they were taking the singles,They were not taking any sort of the risk and most importantly a good partnership was building. Manhas then decided to give bowl to Awana and he took a wicket for his captain. Rahane was playing too defensively and on one ball of Awana he tried to push the bowl on off side but got thick edge and it went to slips,Good catch by Tehlan and we got a wicket! :happy We got one more wicket of Agakar pretty soon I would say,Agarkar got out on 0. Captain,Manhas had faith in me and gave me the bowl. As I mentioned earlier I bowled a bit in the nets and now it was real chance of me to show that I am a all rounder and that's what I did! My first three deliveries to Agarkar were full length but the fourth bowl I thought lets change the line and bowl a short delivery,Agarkar tried to cut it but fielder was there and he took the catch. I was so delighted taking wicket in my first over. But Nayar single handedly was taking Mumbai innings forward,He was not playing defensively he was playing attacking cricket and he soon reached his fifty.

Century for Nayar,But Mumbai struggling!!!​

So,Powar was not even able to play a big innings not a fine innings even and got out for just 5. Nayar was playing exceptionally well,He was finding gaps and most importantly he was hitting boundaries rather than taking singles because on the other hand tail ender was batting. He was playing freely and guess what he soon reached his well made century..

Match Ends,Delhi Wins! :happy​

So,After few minutes of Nayar reaching his century Mumbai innings ended. Tail Enders were not able to help Nayar and our bowlers restricted Mumbai team. Nayar was out in the end as well and obviously then it was just matter of the time till Mumbai innings end.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals

Uthappa's knock of 73 helped Rajasthan Royals to win​

So after winning the toss and deciding to bat first Kolkata got off to a good start. But Dilshan lost his wicket and after few overs even Tamim lost his wicket,Inzemam tried his best to control the innings but he had no sort of help from the non striker end and Kolkata got all out for just 125. Rajasthan Royals openers did just what they needed to Uthappa played freely and Hughes made sure that he doesn't loose his wicket. When Uthappa was feeling to play big strokes he did that because it was a great chance for him to play a big innings and he did that. When just 1 run was needed for Rajasthan to win Uthappa lost his wicket but till then he did his job and in the end Rajasthan won the game easily.

Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Ganguly's brilliant century helped Mumbai to win​

Bangalore won the toss and surprisingly elected to bowl first. Ganguly and Sachin came to bat for Mumbai,Ganguly from the ball one started smashing the bowlers. He smashed his very first bowl for four,Sachin was doing job of supporting at the other end and Ganguly made sure that he plays risk freely. Ganguly reached to his century in the starting of 18th over but after century lost his wicket but he did his job,What a innings! :hpraise After Ganguly wicket,Sachin played few strokes,Reached his fifty and Mumbai final score was 181. Bangalore never looked comfortable chasing the target,Wickets fall in regular session for Bangalore and they got all out for just 78. Shoaib Akhtar was brilliant with the bowl he picked up 6 wickets but the man of the match was given to Sourav Ganguly.

Joining the Delhi Daredevils team...​

So after the end of Ranji match next day I left the hotel. Before leaving the hotel I called Karthick and asked him the location of the hotel,He was a bit busy at that point of time but still he told me the location. I called for a quick cab and in half an hour visited the Delhi Daredevils team hotel. I went to the hotel and guess what I was again welcomed with flowers :doh,My new room partner was Sehwag. Just when I was told this my jaw dropped and I was shocked. Sehwag came to me and said chill down don't be afraid,I am a senior cricketer but I don't mind if you are my roommate. We know each other from past few months so it would be good for you to learn cricket after being my room partner. We both will open for Delhi Daredevils from now on so that right hand and left hand combination could be there. But Aditya you really need to improve your back foot,Our coach is not at all happy with your batting. I wondered that why is our coach so rude? :confused: Sehwag said that now keep your bag in the room and then you can have few hours rest and then we will practice for our next match. I went to my room and went to bed so that I can feel refreshed. Soon I will join my team in practice net.
