Do we need a ban list here?

Everyone who wants a ban list will get one providing they make a donation through the paypal thing of ?30.

it would just create a whole lot of threads containing arguments as to why people were banned. how is that helping anyone?
It wouldn't, it'd save the threads and posts wondering why members are banned.
I think you need to check the definition of outraged. No-one is outraged, we just disagree.
Wrong choice of word, exasperated would be a better one. Why not take a look at the Football Forums one, maybe even ask them how it's been working?

This is something which will never be accepted, and in my opinion there's no need of this. MSN is the place to ask them the reason

I have seen it work in other places, but that's up to them. Our view is that a public ban list isn't needed. Bannings and other staff decisions are often private and we don't deem appropriate for public viewing.

Everyone find out eventually why the person was banned. So whats the need.

Could say the same about news programmes to be honest.

On a forum I post regularly on, they have a sub forum called Room 101 which has the history of all infractions which I think is wrong. However I think that could be a good alternative to perhaps creating a ban list. Either way, I don't see the need for one.

Not that my 2-cents are worth anything, BUT,

What's the problem compiling a list of bans? Yes the small time members don't need to be added, but as an example, Highlander666 (Tom), and members like him who are known would be pretty helpful.

You can claim the staff needn't do that, but this is an online forum, its not like the police who can't say because of actual laws.

Anyways, either way I don't care, I just wanted to say that is it that important that its kept secret?

For once I agree with the pube above me.

This isn't the Secret Service, its a little Cricket forum - I don't think anyone who has been banned cares if its private or not.

I say we make an official vote, if yes win, just do it.

That would never happen! Not even within the staff crew.

:p

(running out of emoticons to use)

+2

I always feel things get a little too serious on here. It's not a hospital and peoples records don't need to be kept confidential. If someone cares that the reason they got banned is on a cricket forum then that's a little weird tbh.

80% is a pretty damn big majority. So when can we expect the ban list thread?
