de Villiers is already established but I think he has what it takes to be at the top of the game.

Going to throw in the name of Kraigg Braithwaite

It's actually Jean. And yes, he might just be the next Garry Sobers!

Sobers averaged 57.7 and got 235 wickets. JP might get close to the average but not the wickets.

I voted for Ryder.
Other New Zealanders include Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson.

Duminy is shaping up to be one too....

So his Right-Arm pieish bowling is going to improve to the extent he'll pick up 200 odd test wickets and another 800 first-class wickets?

OMG, look ok? Sobers was a batsman first? Duminy bats a lot like him. Sobers also bowled spin. Duminy offers a spin bowler, whether or not he takes 200 test wickets remain to be seen.

But, I meant mostly batting. And at any rate I said he might just be the next Garry Sobers..........

You said Duminy was shaping up to be an all-rounder. He's taken 26 first-class wickets in 55 matches, he's not even close to being an all-rounder, not in the Sobers league anyway. Sobers was a good enough bowler most people thought he would have made the team as a bowler alone.

Did they say that after he played 6 test matches?
:doh

Rohit Sharma is definitely one. He has the potential to be the best in the world. Raina is also a good batsman, I really like him but he has a few faults and doesn't have as much potential as Sharma. He'll still be a very good batsman though.

Raina? The moment he plays a few continuous series outside the subcontinent, his selection will be sorted out. Thats the key. "If you want to drop Raina, make him play a few series outside the subcontinent and you can easily drop him". He is another Ganguly!

I agree with him. I like what I've seen from Rohit Sharma. He reminds me of Ravi Bopara. Immense talent but is yet to turn that into consistent international performances. He's very entertaining to watch, and his domestic stats indicate he's capable of playing all 3 forms of the game. Sharma has performed well in the T20i's he's played, and you can't argue with the stats he put together last season in India's FC competition. Averaging over 80 with 4 hundreds in 13 innings. I think he's going to be a big player in India's future.

Guptil has a pretty good future ahead of him. Also a young bloke named Kane Williamson captained NZ U19's and had a terrific season in all forms of the game last year. Also Corey Anderson may end up being the next Chris Cairns

Sobers bowled: Left-arm fast-medium, Slow left-arm orthodox, Slow left-arm chinaman. To be the next all rounder he would need to improve his bowling allot and be more then a part time bowler.
