Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

It's essentially a choice between effective protection and not releasing on PC

This. The sentence in itself is so simple, but people don't seem to/don't want to understand that fact. Effective protection over non-PC version anyday for me.

No pirates have ruined PC gaming, DRM is trying to save it...

The importance of punctuation ;)... I had to re-read that again to make sure I got its meaning right :)

Majority of the pirates are from poor countries who cant afford the game , different pricing scheme in different countries with limited number of cheaper keys supplies in those countries and some sort of region locked mechanism for cheaper keys are the only option I think of.
Personally I buy a game every 2 months (some times a month if I get some discount deal) and I am not a hardcore gamer so It works for me :)

if your computer can run this game, you can afford the game. there really is no arguing that point: the countries might be poor, the pirates aren't. also, the countries might not be so poor if more people there respected property rights.

Not to flog an oft beaten carcass of a horse, if someone can afford a PC to play the game, the person can very well afford to purchase the game. Yes, majority of the people in countries ridden with piracy are poor, but not all and certainly not the ones who are into gaming. It's a cultural thing more than anything else and not everything to do with poverty or affordability. I'm more than willing to bet that there are be folks far richer than average people in developed countries but still willingly going with pirated stuff.

Edit: I see blocker has made the same point in the previous post.

Extremely flawed argument Blockerboy :D:D, doesn't necessarily mean if one can afford a PC capable of running Modern games, one always have in the similar capacity, the money to buy a video game. I'd say ts more about the buying habits of people. Most of the people buying video games (atleast in my locality) fall under the age bracket of 16-22. So a father/mother/guardian of a that person would just NOT be willing to spend Rs. 5000 for a mere video game and this unwillingness is directly due to the fact that he just can't afford to spend 5000 on pleasure. So most of the pirates really "ARE" poor and that makes state of modern economic system extremely frustrating for them. However it doesn't mean that people shove off their responsibilities to the excuses under the disguise of "realities". There are bunch of good people too, who realize that there is opportunity, work hard for it and then earn it.

Moreover I do agree that there is this "cult" of piracy spread all of the sub-continent, owing to which even those who can afford a video game, pirate it.

It's not a flawed argument at all, actually. It's 100% flawless. There is no difference with having the money to buy hardware but apparently too poor to buy vastly cheaper software.

DBC actually requires a reasonably robust PC/Graphic combination. The amount of people asking in the early days of development what new GFX card they have to buy yet we're OBVIOUSLY not purchasing the game was pretty telling.

A less-than-a-second check to the game is the lightest most non-offensive DRM in 2015 and the minuscule amount of legit purchases that are affected by its inclusion simply don't matter in the grand scheme of PC players continued support.

It's 2015 if you can't foot the bill for a 56k modem or roaming mobile data link for a 1sec check to your beloved cricket game, nobody is shedding a tear, sorry.

Quite surprising you havent got back to answering peoples questions on this: if I had been accused of stealing something I would be vigourosly defending myself.....mmm, I wonder why you are so silent on it....
Well If you think I am like that??[DOUBLEPOST=1437750451][/DOUBLEPOST]then I cant do anything...

You said you had the game: your posts dont add up. As of this moment i consider you a pirate. Dont ask for help.
