I'm not saying there has been no coverage. What coverage there has been is naturally positive. He's one of the all time greats.

The major focus for the sporting media has been the Ashes. As they feel to Australians it is more relevant.

I'm sure when Ponting, Warne etc it wasn't as huge in India as it was here.

That's how mainstream media works. Definitely, Tendulkar retiring gets more focus from certain specialised organizations. Eg ABC Grandstand.

EDIT: As an example, during my brekky shift I talk some sport. At the moment in the news main sports involving Australians.
Cricket,Rugby league world cup, Wallabies tour, golf, aleague and Socceroos, afl still, horse racing, V8 supervisors, F1... not enough time to cover all as much as they all warrant.

NEWSFLASH!
There have been better batsman than tendulkar you know?! The world of cricket does not revolve around his retirement. Look back at some other other great (better) batsman such as lara. They didn't have a special hand picked series made for them to retire in. They could see when it was time to hang the pads up. Not continue and continue just to get to 200. Lara retired with dignity. It pains me to watch tendulkar bat in recent times.

Still G4AD 200 tests is amazing but you are right, maybe 20 to much. No one will ever beat that record and to be honest who the hell would want to guys.

PS Sachin has been a amazing batsmen but his strength is how conscience and his lastability over the last like 100 years( Joking:p) He is the Rolling stones of cricket almost.

Still a great player and the hero that Indians needed just not the rest of the world.

PS My favourite has been Lara just like you G4AD, he was so amazing but had more bad days than Sachin but when he was on fire no one could stop him. Just ask the Pommies.:lol

----------

You couldn't make it to Melbourne for the play session but you can make it to Geelong to stalk Matt?

I had my parents here:facepalm and had to keep them happy.:facepalm
PS I was not going to stalk Matt, I was going to give him some of Ross Indian Veggie curry and wait till he is on the can and then well steal myself a copy and send Ross a brand new $100 bill for the game.;)

----------

Would sum up the land of galah eating, child stealing, cork hat wearing criminals.

I may roll my eyes at the deification of him by a lot of Indians, but he is a stellar batsman, reaching in his prime a plane few others could reach. I would agree he maybe should have gone earlier, having played on well past his best, but he deserves respect for the longevity of his career in the face of such overwhelming pressure.

Think of the cricket world he started in, and the cricket world he inhabits now... He has bridged all of it.

He has got plenty of attention and respect here in the UK. If your country is too insular to respect foreign greats, it belittles your country, not Tendulkar.

Not saying his retirement should affect release - India isn't a gaming market worth that, yet - but his retirement merits attention. 200 bloody tests mate. it's historic.

Child STEALING blocker, the kids in my dungeon are there on there own free will ok. PS You do know we are not all Croc hunters and have huge knifes in are back pockets right. God some Americans thought us Aussies were the ones that kept that poor daughter in the dungeon for 30 years.

Same for the UK when Darren Maddy retired. I bet it barely registered over there.

Chief new cricket game, Darren Maddy cricket 2014.:p
PS Flintoff must have been a little bigger than Darren Chief.

Back to the game or Dutch will start deleting my posts again, what to say.
Release Date.:D

got that straight drive from sachin today :D

On other side, what pains me to see being an Indian and a fan of cricket the amount of attention that cricket gets here but not other sports.

There is World chess championship going on in Chennai-Anand vs Carlsen but sadly after today the media will be filled with this "sachin sachin" and retirement(give that man a break. He has played for the past 24 years) whereas there will be no mention about chess for few days. Other sports include hockey, shooting and what not. :noway:noway

On Topic: when is the game releasing? :p

If MattW already has a retail copy, as was whispered somewhere, then the disks are produced already. As there's no real need to promote pre-release, it is possible that they might just go straight to "IN SHOPS NOW"...

Chinese whispering: it started off by Matt saying "do I look soppy in this dress? I will take the risk!"

And ended up "I have a copy at my address of the retail disk!"

It looks like this game won't be released now until next year.
I received an email from Mighty Ape saying:

Just letting you know that our suppliers have advised us today that the estimated New Zealand release date for Don Bradman Cricket 14 ~ PS3 has changed from 29/11/2013 to 28/02/2014 today.

EB Games is showing a release date of TBC 2014. :noway

As yet we have not given a release date to *any* retailer.

When we do give out a release date I will edit the post here.

Ross, did you get any attention from retailers/media regarding the play sessions that you wouldn't otherwise have expected?

-----

Where do retailers get these placeholder dates? And why would they posit 2014 for a game that in their catalogue was 2013 and presumably you gave them at least a window before the play session? (Genuine question.)
