I think the delayed sequel talk was a bit over the top. Before that it was mainly about how to build from the first one.

Point being it wasn't a "delayed sequel" discussion. How can it be when there is no date set for a sequel. It was more a discussion of how the series may develop and specifically if titling will be the same as games such as FIFA. Pretty innocent I'd suggest.

However I think, considering we don't know the plans for other installments of the series, it might be a bit early to discuss it.

Don Bradman Cricket 14 will not release in 2013.

In order to bring the best possible game to the market at the best possible time we have decided to move the date into 2014. We are working to get the game to all markets simultaneously and will advise as soon as we can of an exact release date once it is known.

On a positive note, there will be a new Don Bradman Cricket Academy released on Friday and to say thanks for your patience it will include the long awaited Nets Practice mode.

Could suggest it needs tweaking or work done on it.

you say that, but i cannot for life of me see an early jan release, either logistically or a max-revenue point of view.

so late jan, more likely feb/march. however, i would be delighted to be wrong on that :)

Yes, let's be clear I'm not saying I'm expecting it in the first week of January, I'm expecting it to be pretty early in January when all becomes clear about an actual release date. Then the Ashes game will have been a distant memory, bloody Christmas won't be in the way. The road will be clear.

Well personally I'd like to say thanks to Ross for sticking with this forum despite all the shit he's been given by people who clearly have no clue about the process of getting retailers to pick the game up, and especially for releasing the main control system in the next CA.

I'm not sure anyone has yet shown much appreciation for what a big thing it is to give away something they've worked on for this long away for free. It's a working demo, which a load of people have been complaining about.

On the issue of "further bug fixing", has it occurred to anyone that the Ashes 13 glitch videos may have actually raised the bar in this respect? That people are now going to be on the lookout for anything the slightest bit weird looking?

i think plenty of people said what an amazing gesture it is with the nets. get off your high horse (or pull your head out your ring piece) and actually read some comments.

is this net practice just batting or bowling is included aswell and can u choose different bowlers :)

I can't wait for the Nets beta to be pre-packaged on the streets of Delhi into DVD's emblazoned with terrible "Sachin Tendulkar Net Practice 2014" photoshop...

Please post them when you find them.

Hahahaha....WORD!!

And this free demo will be sold for 50 rupees and people will actually buy it!!

typically they aim for 6pm melbourne and it usually comes out between then and midnight.

this being a "big" update, you'd think it might be a late one as it probably will have some major QA before it's let out the door.

Couldn't agree more. It's amazing people are so naive to think everything is either black or white, i.e. Ross is great and always right whereas anyone who has temerity to criticize him or Big Ant is a troll. However real life is not black or white but shades of grey.

We probably shouldn't look too far into Ross's posts. However, it does seem to suggests some minor changes which is contrary to what I'd assumed.

True, but it is a reasonable assumption to make. Ross is simply being open and honest, so I'd guess there are a few adjustment that need to be made. If he'd wanted to keep it quiet he wouldn't have said that at the start of the statement.

The only thing I'm actually genuinely concerned about (and to the tiniest degree i mean!) is releasing the nets in CA. What if quite a few people turn around and suggest changes and/or don't like it etc...that may delay it even further. Obviously I doubt that will happen, but it could cause issues.

Yes, I'm being pessimistic :D

There will most certainly be uproar on Facebook about the lack of bowling marker and need for a controller.
