Well personally I'd like to say thanks to Ross for sticking with this forum despite all the shit he's been given by people who clearly have no clue about the process of getting retailers to pick the game up, and especially for releasing the main control system in the next CA.

I'm not sure anyone has yet shown much appreciation for what a big thing it is to give away something they've worked on for this long away for free. It's a working demo, which a load of people have been complaining about.

On the issue of "further bug fixing", has it occurred to anyone that the Ashes 13 glitch videos may have actually raised the bar in this respect? That people are now going to be on the lookout for anything the slightest bit weird looking?

Ever wonder Ross can actually make a mistake like he did with his "game will be out in 2013 no matter what" proclamation? Or that follow-up to AC13 will have an advantage in the sense the bar has been set so low that anything should be able to raise it? Or that nets is a way to keep the people hooked or folks may actually lose interest in the project which was announced in 2012 and may not even have a release date come 2014?

Nobody gives anything for free. You can bet your @$$ Ross and Tru Blu looked at the pros and cons of releasing nets in CA and determined the best option is to add them. If it hadn't been so they wouldn't have added the nets. Period. At the end of the day Ross is a businessman who has a business to run and sell as many copies of the game as he can. It's laughable people think Ross is handing out things for "free". At the end of the day he's in the business of making & selling games and we are the consumers or his target market. Nothing less and nothing more.

As blockerdave rightly said, get off your high horse.

i think from Matt's pic, there seemed to be a bowling marker in the nets when you use the bowling machine, at least.

So I get abused for 'trolling' for months for saying that it would never come out this year and I'm proven right. I say that they still haven't finished the game, the press release pretty much confirms this by saying they want to offer the best game possible.

If some of you could remove your head from the sand it would appreciate. Big Ant have done similar to 505 in regards to releases now. Would you like some humble pie Ross?

I know I am over simplifying these events to a degree but Dbc 14 wasn't released pre-Christmas due to ashes stuffing the marek a couple of months ago.

My interpretation was this is because they could get the retailers to pay the desired price for dbc14.

However I'm sure the dbc team did some sensitivity analysis around increased sales due to Xmas release v.s sales price and they felt it was better to hold off release to achieve best sales price and coordinate the release as well as possible which is a fair call.

However, I am surprised they would release the nets mode, or any gameplay, given that it will surely lead to a reduced number of sales v.s.not releasing nets mode. I wonder how well this move was analysed. I know people on here will buy it anyway but for someone that might be cash strapped or not a huge cricket fan, it might be enough to quench their thirst.

Also, release anything on PC means nothing to me. I have a work PC, not for games. I have an ipad for anything personal, and I have a ps3 for games. PC gaming dyed 10 years ago.

I thought Nets have the bowling marker and it's not optional. Nets is more for getting used to control and get your timing right but not for replicating the game in the way you can read the line and length without the marker.

I think the problem is the manner of how you go about telling everyone the game is not ready. A lot of the times you pointed towards the debug play session build which proved nothing as that issue had been explained.

The way Big Ant and Ross have handled it is nothing like how 505 and Trickstar handled it.

I think it was a bit hypocritical of Ross to criticize Ashes 2013 for delaying their game and then doing it same with his own game.

Also, we were made to believe that the game isn't getting released just because of the competition with Ashes 13, which has turned out to be untrue. Ashes 2013 was BS and got canceled but DBC 14 still got delayed. So I don't think Ashes 2013 was the reason in the first place.

Moreover, Ross got pretty mad when some of the posters here said the game won't be released in 2013. Those posters were targeted.

In the hindsight we were mislead and it's disappointing...

Of course it's better to have a good game than undercooked game, so I hope whenever the game is released it's worth buying and playing.

Said above, cricket academy with net practice is a good thing!

Dude he's putting a big chunk of the game up for people who aren't necessarily going to buy to take shots at, and given the kind of crap they've (BigAnt) been getting so far that could be a whole new shitstorm, even if it's as good as you can reasonably expect from a game with this budget.

Personally, if I really don't like the control system then I might not buy it, where I would otherwise have bought it without question.

Not going to bother even contemplating your dumb analysis of loss leading business strategies.

I pointed out how every bug in the play test was to be fixed in a magical patch which they didn't have but which fixed every error. Too good to be true and a cover up, the ball going through the middle of the bat is never anything which needs to be patched, it's basic.

No they haven't they were very similar. They will have known for several weeks at minimum that it wouldn't be getting a 2013 release, they kept leading us on in the hope they could rush release it. They also kept coming out being cocky slating their rivals for missing deadlines, but I'm sure they'll have a patch to fix that...

None of us are winners with it being delayed but a company which have tried to claim transparency all along haven't been very transparent have they.

Humble pie will be served for all, this guy gets it.

I don't think you quite understand the situation with Ashes...

If my statement about Ross being a developer and we being the consumer base for his product seems "business strategy" to you, sure go ahead :rolleyes
