Don Bradman Cricket 17 World Premiere Discussion

Everything about the game looks spot on. Few issues which have already been addressed such as repeated commemtary, sudden diving of the keeper/bowler to collect the ball. I am sure this will be fixed either before the release or by future updates. Can't wait for December 15th to come :)

Ross said that the commentary codes have been rewritten.

That was with respect to DBC14, which is true, but doesn't address the big issues with the new guys.

I don't really care though. The game is much more interesting with them turned off.

It would be a shame not to fully utilize this option by us due to this small issue since BA has put a lot into it.

I'm sure many people (like me) would love to listen to that lovely commentary while playing this beautiful game.

"The best cricket game on earth" ;)

The commentary, from what I have seen so far, is just not good at all. Aside for the double up you have too much hyperbole and just too much talking in general. The commentator does not have to describe every ball, particularly if it's just a stock standard ball outside off left through to the keeper.

James Taylor seems to have a nice soft voice that is suited to commentary but the other one, the "main" guy I suppose, has a very irritating voice in my opinion.

At the end of the day to get a cricket game with commentary you don't get sick of would arguably require say six commentators rotating around just like on radio and TV. You'd probably get annoyed there too if it were just two people all the time.

The game is just 1month away from its release and yet no official gameplay or trailer from bigant.the marketing team of this game is probably asleep.have'nt seen any game without any trailer or gameplay for this long
Its not just this community, there are millions of people who are eagerly waiting for a decent cricket game .they obviously would'nt know that this game even exists.
Nothing offensive towards bigant ,just want the game to do well thats all.

I agreed 100% No idea why they are doing this.

What trailer are you expecting? We have so many videos by Twistie3 which itself is like a trailer (not official though :p).

Slick Trailer for marketing purposes only , That should have released prior to any in game footage (That would have cleared any (stupid) doubts on the graphics quality of this game being lowered than DBC14)

Cut them some slack, will you? They have been downright busy ever since the Academy was made open to public with their weekly updates. It is but natural to have some things delayed for that reason.

That in bold is the problem. The game is being communicated to the world but by Big Ant or the publisher Tru Blu but primarily by just a random Youtube Streamer. We've already seen streams of comments about the graphics being poor which stem from us being stuck with purely compressed Youtube video and not an HD trailer.

I really admire and respect Big Ant for doing the playtest and being so open with the public about the game, but ultimately I want to see it succeed not just with Planet Cricket hardcores but a wide audience and having grainy mobile phone footage as the initial unveiling of the game doesn't seem like the best marketing strategy.

Also in all these videos you aren't highlighting the beautiful elements of the game when you have 5 on 5 smash fests often between noob players and batsmen playing with inverted controls. I don't think any trailer would show hook shots to yorkers or accidental runouts.

As @asprin said, they are damn too busy with the academy updates and getting things ready for the final release. Although, promotion thingy is related with the publishers.

Any company that has ever made a game is always busy getting things ready for the final release. Doesn't stop most of them having trailers.

Anyway I'll leave it there. It's not something that impacts my view on the game but I'm disappointed to see so many negative comments on the game here, on Youtube, the recent Twitch stream and other forums that could have been avoided if the delivery of game footage were better controlled.

And I'm aware that this could be 100% Tru Blu's fault. They seem like fairly crappy publishers, particularly with the AFL Live debacle.

I din't know making a trailer is harder than making a game.
