Just wondering which download managers you guys use.
I went to my usual source (download.com) and it recommends Internet Download Manager. Don't know what happened to my previous download manager but I've just been using Firefox one. But tried Internet Download manager and saw a huge difference in speed. 300kb/s as opposed to 30kb/s.

even i use star downloader. You can split the file in any times!!!!
I usually split it in 30 files and get triple speeds!!!!!1

ya idm is the best but you have to buy it. Internt download manager is the best, but star downloader is the best for free use.

actually, excessive splitting causes reduction of speeds because of overhead in maintaining them.
try having minimum no of splits which is reqd to saturate bandwidth.

I use both DAP and Star Downloader.

OFFTOPIC:Actually my HD is filled with different type of softwares with same purpose. For instance:

I have three anti-virus:

AVI
Norton
NOD-32

Six audio players:

M-Player
Amarock
vlc
Winamp
Musicmatch Jukebox
Real Player

No need for Media Player. So I have deleted it.

I use Get Right nothing special just gets the job done, since most places I download from don't allow accelerators like DAP.

Not a great idea having that many Anti Virus programs. It could cause conflicts between the programs.
Audio player you only really need 3 in VLC, Real Player and WMP. Maybe add Winamp for their stuff.

Er, I think what you mean by "Deleted" is that you've selected to remove the Windows Media player icons from the desktop and start menu via add/remove programs ?

I also use IDman, working fine for me. For smaller downloads i use the inbuilt manager from opera.
