England 'A' in Bangladesh

Bowler O M R W
S C J Broad 5.0 1 15 1
G Onions 7.0 0 30 3
T C Smith 5.0 3 3 1
A Rashid 3.0 1 8 0

not bad from Broad. Overshadowed by Onions and Smith kept it tight but who picked up the wickets when things weren't going so well nd the game was there to be won? A good performance from our lads seeing as you rarely see a result in these 3 day games however looking at the Bangladesh side i'm not too sure what they will be learning other than how to bowl and bat in different conditions which surely the could have done against a more challenging side against Pakistan or India A?

:D

Judging a game from statistics is so fun.

He went at nearly 6 in the 1st innings btw ;)

Carbs hit a hundred and Davies got 67.

Not the best of starts to his England career, he's flown home and will see a specialist in the next few days.

It's a shame but I imagine this will be the most cricket he's ever played in his career so he'll just need to get used to it

Seems like we're doing ok so far, despite Bangladesh A putting up a bit of a fight.

Anyone know of any decent sites that do good score updates? Ie, proper scorecards. The ECB site is the best so far but it's not got a scorecard just a few paragraphs on the action so far.

Just had a look around and cant find any. The BBC are way off the mark as they say that the game starts at 3:30 this afternoon

Broad takes 3-35.

I wonder who'll be jumping around.

Bowled them out for 209 (Broad 3 wickets, Onions 2, Loudon and Yardy a wicket each and a run out) I can't find the other 2 wicket takers.

You still don't get the feeling that Yardy will ever run through a side though. I feel Broad is the most likely of the bowlers in this game to play for England next year.

Yeah I'd have to agree with you there, I dont think players like Yardy or Darymple should get into the test side, neither there bowling or batting is enough to take the opposition apart with ball or bat.

Bresnan had his chance last year against Sri Lanka and showed at he wont be ready for a couple of years at the least. Smithy needs a couple more seasons with us, well perhaps Onions get benefit with one more season at Durham. Broad looks ready to go really though and perhaps could be introduced either in the ODI's in the summer or next winter's tours to SL and NZ.

Not in FC cricket, but then he rarely bowls in FC cricket for us. He's more suited to OD cricket than FC cricket, kind of like Jayasuriya.

People seem to forget when mentioning Yardy is his batting. He's improving all the time (I know he was poor in an England shirt) but he's very much a player who is still learning the game.
