England In India - October 2011/12

Its just Australia if you are talking about recently.

Did 1-1 in South Africa not happen then? Or Bangladesh?

England are the best side in the world at the moment, only an idiot would argue otherwise, and you do not have to win in every country to become so. A side whom had won everywhere abroad would be completely dominant let alone number 1. How long England stay there is very much open to debate but whether they are or no isn't.

Ok, then I can understand why he is behaving like this

Behaving like what?

Because he's Australian? (extrapolating from Mac here not yourself)

:lol

No, more because of the things like "live it up while you can" (before immigrants will apparently "run over" the UK) and insinuating that a very large number of the Indians living there are living there illegally ("most of the population in the UK failed to fill out the census which gave those stats you mentioned. and you dont fill out a census if you are living illegally....").

Anyways, back to cricket because that whole discussion isn't going to lead to anything productive or enjoyable. I am hopeful that India will be able to scrape a draw but I see another innings defeat unfortunately. I just hope that Dravid, Sachin and Laxman cash in. It's their last time batting in England so hopefully do well even if India does lose (well, they can't win from here).

What I was meaning was that Macintosh basically implied that because he's Australian its understandable which is just as bigoted. I obviously realise his views, or those portrayed in this thread, are most definitely bigoted that was however a moot point.

Indian Cricket

As India came to bowl,By looking their Faces i said they are gonna make it 0-4 :) No hint of a fight from this team. It's not that they can't beat England,It seems they don't just want to

Indian Cricket is a very secretive institution. Players, Ex-Players, Coaches, and especially the BCCI don't give the info Indian Fans deserve.

An English Coach once told me that there are loads of Pace Bowlers in a certain Indian State. It's all hush-hush for some reason.

Another thrilling innings by KP and Bell looked in fine form again. I just can not imagine what the Indian bowlers can do to try and get a win here...if India are whitewashed do they go down to no. 3?? And RP Singh is looking about as threatening as a bunny.

Thought India had a good chance with those 2 quick wickets but once again this series has gone the same way as the other 3 matches.

you are getting confident eyes sureshot - thats what we aussies use to say. its true though - good bowlers make something happen from nothing and england have the best attack at the minute. there isnt anything there, but they will make something happen because you expect it to and so do the indians. but mainly because YOU expect it to!

for the record since this is a series of records - i remember when the aussies played south africa i think we belted them relentlessly but they were number 1 (due to scheduling like how india got to the top). but i dont think we belted them 4 straight this badly. is this a record for how badly a number 1 team has been beaten?

Well, not many other instances jump out, but of course that is very subjective.

I think there is something in the pitch, there was a decent bit of shape there from the seamers and there's some uneven bounce on a wicket that is deteriorating. Best batting wicket of the series, but when the opposition have failed to score over 300 in 6 innings on decent batting wickets, in conditions where England have piled on the runs...

I think Swann will be licking his lips with that rough RP Swing (Bumble!) is creating. Heck, give KP a chance to turn his arm.

But most of all, there's about 2 or 3 players who seem to actually care about being here this tour, that's why we're so dangerous. Dravid cares, Kumar cares (but is injured). Does anyone else? Sharma probably.

I think if we're to win this we'll have to force India to bat again by Tea on Sunday.

Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar is boring me to death with his commentary. Why would they choose him to represent India? He doesn't know a thing about Indian cricket.

Boring but not on BCCI's payroll...not afraid to call a spade a spade...even questioned and criticized Sachin once.

As i think England will declare on 600 after first session of Day 3 And then India Would have 8 sessions and 20 wickets to save the match looks a bit difficult as they are batting throughout this series but still if you look at the names that India have,They really can save it

Sehwag has been proven to be a FTB but he is not droppable because of his reputation on those flat tracks. Selectors will be unwilling to accept it.

Good to see more Indian admitting this finally. But even if Sehwag continues to struggle heavily in bowler friendly conditions. I dont see any other opener in India who seems adaptable on flat decks/bowler friendly decks that could force Sehwag out.

You may just have to live with that deficiency of his until he retires.
