England In India - October 2011/12

Did 1-1 in South Africa not happen then? Or Bangladesh?

England are the best side in the world at the moment, only an idiot would argue otherwise, and you do not have to win in every country to become so. A side whom had won everywhere abroad would be completely dominant let alone number 1. How long England stay there is very much open to debate but whether they are or no isn't.

England does deserve the number 1 status, no doubt on it,

valvolux posted that India didn't win much away series, m just trying to prove that India deserved the number 1 ranking just like England are doing right now.

I just hope that Dravid, Sachin and Laxman cash in. It's their last time batting in England

While this might sound highly unlikely, but if India do manage to stay inside the top 2 of the ICC test rankings by April 2013, and if the above three players do continue to play test cricket until then, they might as well be playing the ICC test Championship final at Lord's in England. Highly unlikely as I said though.

Excellent work by Bell and KP yesterday, shame Strauss couldn't go on from yet another start.

What was the nightwatchman in aid of? England were comfortably on top, the bowlers tired and conditions unthreatening so Morgan should have come out to bat. Now I bet he's fuming that he didn't, stupid decision and whoever made it wants shooting. I can understand it if the batting side has lost a few wickets or not in a good position, but not when 400 odd for two :mad

Oh, I heard the World Champions in Tests and ODI World Cup holders were touring England this summer, when do they arrive.................? :D Better get a move on, there ain't much summer left

Bopara's started off well. he could get a quick 50 here before the declaration because i dont think england should play much past 600.

Great innings from Bell. Take a bow son, take a bow.

They'll go a bit on after Lunch I reckon. Maybe another hour, it's another long day today. Another hour after lunch with the batsman we have in and to come should get us to 650.

LOL @ Ravi trying to defend Harhbhajan with the world's thinnest arguments.

- "It's hard."
- "It's a lot of pressure after Kumble retired."
- "People are just looking at his stats and not seeing how he's bowling."
- "He's a matchwinner."

BCCI's whore indeed.

m just trying to prove that India deserved the number 1 ranking just like England are doing right now.

I'd agree that they did deserve to be number one.

Come home see the score. Awesome, that is all.

If this were a boxing bout the referee would be up on manslaughter charges for not having stopped the fight several rounds ago.

Has ANY number one ranked side been spanked so heavily and whitewashed before because India are probably going to rely on the weather or a miracle?

Hour south of the Oval and it's 25c with no clouds in sight.

Hearing that we'll get some play tonight, but maybe only an hour or so. Tomorrow and Monday look okay.

Time to declare. Even if we have to chase 100 in the last hour on Monday, be a doddle against this attack.

I wouldn't be suprised if we're out by 4:30 to be honest. Decent drainage, quick showers shift quicker than long persistant drizzle as the ground isn't already soaked and the suns out.
