England In India - October 2011/12

Proud to be the world's number 3 test side! :lol

And what does this do to the Indian team? I just hope that Dhoni is sacked as the test captain and Laxman is made the new skipper.

Clean Sweep!!!! England dominated the series. India's bowling looked toothless without Zaheer. Batting was nothing special too. Only Dravid, Mishra & SRT were good with the bat

Time to start blooding in new players. Is Laxman really the right man for the job? Getting on a bit now, dodgy knees, etc. You need a proper plan for the retirement of Laxman, Dravid and Tendulkar. If they go within 2 years of each other you'll feel it for many years.

Get some energy in the field and some professionalism with how you go about preparing for the game, etc.

Don't waste the opportunity of having Duncan Fletcher as a coach, that should be your biggest disappointment if you don't start to improve. He's a great coach, even if not loved by all!

Broad Man of the Series. Wow, what a turn around from his series against Sri Lanka. Average of 60 with the bat, 13 with the ball, committed in the field!

Well done to Strauss and Flower, leading this side through so much.

This was a humiliating series for India after a long time and I guess it came at the right time so if Indian think tank is having even a little mind they will start thinking about post Sachin, Dravid, Laxman era.

Nevertheless even if Bangladesh lost with such a humiliation we all wouldbe saying that they should not play tests, they don't have enough skills to play test etc etc but watching India to loose like this is much more sad then that.

England must be given the credit to make India looks like Bangladesh on these seaming tracks. They are a true No.1 team present now.

ENGLAND HAVE DESTROYED INDIA, AN ABSOLUTE ANNIHILATION! The future against Pakistan and SA for England will be crucial. If they can win there, they can set up a serious dynasty and be known as one of the great teams of the past.
What I like most about this team is the fact that they play as a team and the sum of the parts is greater than the actual parts. England does not have an all time great player in the team but they play like a great side.
And to beat the number one side 4-0 is unheard of, I might be wrong but I don't think that has ever happened before.

I know Dhoni has not been consistent in Test as ODI's but still he is a good player and an excellent skipper. One bad series does not mean he is not capable of job. And don't forget, this is his first series loss as a captain.

Specially two tests with innings defeat.

I don't see it as a flaw to give the benefit of the doubt to the umpire when they're that close.

Still a long way to go, really need to get one of these out for little to no runs.

I see your point but at the moment it's biased towards bowlers. I don't have a better solution or any solution at all, but it is something that can be looked at, perhaps. Of course, you couldn't review LBWs in this series due to BCCI's stupidity but I'm just talking about the system in general without looking at this series in isolation.

Anyways, great series win for England. Thoroughly deserved. It was agonizing to watch but I can still appreciate good cricket and there was lots of that from England this series. They are the world's number one side at the moment but I will reserve my judgement on how far ahead they are of India and South Africa after they tour India (in 2012?). Very promising signs though.

I must have missed this part of the series.
