England In India - October 2011/12

An insult is an insult. There is no category of low and high in it. If Nasser thinks that way, he can keep it to him. There is no need to tell a player donkey from a commentary box. Lazy would have been right word. But than again that catch would have been tough for any fielder. And I think Partiv did try well.

You guys are saying Shastri and Gavaskar are pathetic but I have never heard any of them insulting a player like that.

I'm sorry, but your wayy off target there. That was an absolute sitter to be taken at the first place, which he made a total mess off, let alone conceding a boundary.

:facepalm

o if a player drops a catch than you call him donkey?

If you'd seen even one of my previous posts, you would have realized that I was against Nass on his rude comment. The only thing I disagreed in your previous post was that 'tough chance' part. Ohh and also that desperate attempt of yours in trying to prove Shitsthri and Sunny being better commentators than Nass.

No way is that happening.

Only two teams have won all 3 formats of a single bilateral tour in cricketing history:

Australia against Pakistan in 2009-10: Tests 3-0, T20 1-0 & ODIs 5-0
England against Pakistan in Aug-Sep 2010: Tests 3-1, T20s 2-0 & ODIs 3-2

The one Australia won was a 'perfect' whitewash. India for sure aren't gonna face that situation. In fact, they start as slight favorites to me ahead of the ODIs. Tipping a 3-2 win for either side.

Lol thats a good stat find. Its hard to believe its happened onlt twice, but then T20s have just arrived recently.

Anyways, England to win 5-0? No chance. India are depleted side, but will definitely put a stronger effort in this version although as Owzat mentioned they are definitely down on morale.

There was no attempt from my side to prove about who is better as I already know about it but if you are insulting a player from commentary box than that gives you a hint of how good commentator is.

India did look good in T20, apart from final 2 overs collapse. Really expecting a better performance in ODI's

Ahahahahahaha @ Themer

Stop being sensitive little kids over it. He called them Donkey's cause they move slowly and are unathletic. They fit the bill perfectly.

@Owzat: Thats a nice way to stoke the flame and not get burnt by it. Post your opinion and then slack off saying "I wont read any replies", nice try!:rolleyes

Understanding your culture doesn't mean we stop adhering to our own culture. In our culture, calling someone a "donkey" is a insult, no two hoots about it. Hussain could have easily called them "sluggish", "slouch", "couch potatos" or whatever. But he choose to attract attention and resorted to calling them "donkeys". I guess he knew that word will incite strong reaction, so he did use it. THE GUY HAS TO APOLOGISE! You agree that certain words might sound mild in one culture but not the same in another culture. So you just dont cross the line when it comes to using such sensitive words. Being a commentator who is heard by the world in such a high profile game, you are expected to know what you should talk and what not to.

@Zorax: That doesn't hold water. If people start crossing lines and talk whatever they want, then this world will become a hell of a place to live in. There are atleast millions of people in India (if not the entire billion population) who take serious objection to the word 'donkey', so try telling that population to grow up.:D

I really can't see what's so bad about using the word donkey in that context.

I found it disturbing only 'cause the duo sitting next to him were none other than Sunny and Shitsthri during this comment! :lol Sai and Aalay can seriously stop making a meal out of this now, the former in special, who just wrote an essay on various cultures of the world. :p

You're serious? There are a lot who use worser words than that. You're talking about the respected people, but there are more who use poor language and don't feel for it rather than those who immediately are concerned even if such a word came from their mouth.

Anyway, back on topic, India are depleted, low on morale, a kind of Arsenal of the last season, but still, as Arsenal came close to the PL title, nearly won the Carling Cup, and won over Barcelona in the 1st leg of the CL, India too can get back on track, although they're most likely to lose the series, like Arsenal FC. Either that, or they turn into an Internazionale, who suffered heavlily and lost everything easily.

But even then, India would be able to atleast win 1 match, or even try to tie it.

Its nice mixing football and cricket.:p
