at least they make more sense than the ODI rankings in which australia have been entrenched at number 1 for ages.

i think the issue there is that the schedule itself is a bit messed up with sides throwing in bonus series and also the results themselves are often strange, like with south africa almost never winning against england.

A local daily has said that there are chances of rain at Kolkata which means both teams should step in with the d/l in mind.

Moreover, it seems ticket sales have been poor in Kolkata as well.

Whats Meaker bowling like? From cricinfo commentary it sounds like hes hitting mid 140s on occasions which is pretty tough in indian conditions. They really do need to do away with these one off ODI series. I've always been an ODI fan, in fact I liked it just as much as test cricket until a couple of years ago but the format is just a joke now.

I've been saying our bowling isn't doing the business, they started doing it four matches too late and we're on top.

Again though what's with the 5th bowler(s)?!? 8-0-40-0 from bops and patty, patty bowling as early as the 11th over. bops wasn't brought on until the 20th over but WHY?!?!?! 81/3 and we bring on a trundler, started off ok but doesn't pose a serious wicket threat when, at 81/3, you should be posing a wicket threat.

England SERIOUSLY need to review the make-up of the bowling attack, Patel and Bopara should be last resorts (6th-8th bowlers in ODIs) and we need to find a good enough wicket threat as a 5th bowler, like Colly did but even he wasn't so reliable as to be workable every ODI.

If India get to 250+ then spin might still win the day for India.

rubbish, how many teams have a wicket threat as their 5th bowler?

india's 5th bowler is kohli or raina, they've managed 1 between them over the whole series.

if anything they worry too much about wickets, their economy rates aren't good enough.
