England In India - October 2011/12

Dhoni is yet to get out in last 7 Matches..

he has scored 350 runs without getting out..

Those final 2 overs will be the difference I feel. 250 odd was gettable, but 271 will be just enough for India.

rubbish, how many teams have a wicket threat as their 5th bowler?

india's 5th bowler is kohli or raina, they've managed 1 between them over the whole series.

if anything they worry too much about wickets, their economy rates aren't good enough.

Yup. Australia and SAF are the only exception as they have Kallis and Watson. Unless you have a genuine Allrounder, the 5th bowler would always be a bits and pieces bowler.

the other reason is there is too much inexperience in the pace bowlers. fine, try them out at home where they'll be in conditions they know, but why give someone like meaker a try out in conditions he'll maybe have played 4 or 5 matches in his life against batsmen as good as he's likely to face?

I mean it's hardly fair or sensible, Dhoni has creamed the best in world all about the stadiums in india.

Your 5th bowler's got to be able to bat. The rest you can make up.

yup thats the main requirement.. A team wants 2 Batting All rounder in the team..

If main 4 bowlers do well, then 5th bowler will also do well. Swann was taken away for runs in this match which created problem for 5th bowler..

Apart from Finn, do the others even care about bowling the opposition out? Absolutely dreadful. Thank you India for showing us as to where we truly stand in OD cricket. England's domestic structure seriously needs to be revamped as far as limited overs cricket is concerned. CB40 - what a fail of a tournament!

Teh lolz. It's a far better format than this dross. One Day cricket was created for the fans, that was the whole point of it, but it has failed to move forward with the game, T20 is now there for the fans, ODI cricket is in this limbo position that the ICC has no clue how to deal with. The revised powerplay conditions don't work. The only way ODI cricket is going back to what it used to be will be 40 overs. Because it works, it's so much better than the middle overs where it just gets tedious.

As for England's failings. It's not really got anything to do with the domestic structure, we play too much T20, but that's about it. The selection is the biggest factor and quite frankly it's failed. We also lack the world class all-rounder since Freddie hung up his boots. The players not playing near their best is indicative of personal failings and the stretched international structure.

Anyway, apart from those last few overs, where Dhoni showed why he is one of the best at what he does. Which can happen to any team. I thought we did well. Finn was superb, Meaker was good until that last over or two. Bresnan was better and Patel could have had even better figures.

Totally believable collapse by England after Cook and Kieswetter got them off to a brilliant start.

How Dhoni Makes a Part Timer Bowler bowls like a regular bowler.. Best Captain India ever had and probably one of all time Best Captain in the world.
