it hasnt been proved many times...thats the thing. once or twice.
you are on top now - you may still be on top at the end of this series...but you wont win this series. not a chance. thats the point of this discussion. you are leaning on meaningless 50 over victories and several home victory wins against no one but a weak australian team...which i might add, almost beat you.
you will be like south africa around 10 years ago...number one in the world after being thrashed by the team that was apparently second best. i'll go on the record saying this. england i reckon are the best in the world and have the achievements to actually prove it in test cricket, which india do not. and i'll also say - unless khan loses 10kg by years end - this bowling attack can't even bowl out the aussies. it is very ordinary. but then again, australia wont be able to bowl out the indians. so it will be close. england came to australia with fit and firing bowlers. india's lineup looks weak...but its only 2 days in so i might eat my words. but since they havent had sustained success away from home, im happy to not eat them yet.
form comes and goes. you have some guys who never really lose form. but you ahve gues who have NEVER shown form out of 50 over cricket, or in test cricket away from home. i dont think even sachin has been in english conidtions against an attack which england now have.
anyway - nice chatting. going to bed. england have made a very difficult pitch look easy here. its still swinging a mile - and lords, even when flat, will hoop off the deck given the slope. 400 first innings here in these conditions is a winning total. and india, regardless of what you say, has never won a big series away from home after being thrashed int he first game. read - away from home. we'd all have 99 centuries playing in india
