England In India - October 2011/12

just see out the day india and hope conditions change. how england have won tests before by bowling teams out in unplayable positions then had blue skies and flat wickets when they bat. and what is happening with broad???? wow - worst bowler in world cricket. but maybe he is england's shane watson - let him have 30 tests (which no other player would ever get) of cr*p perfromances then he finally shines. to be fair i think anyone who makes it this far is good enough to benefit from 30+ tests of experience....engalnd can afford it though cause they can carry players with the likes of anderson tearing teams apart. in these conditions no one matches england - india have some class batsmen (when they have their walking kanes with them they are so old) but if these conditions remain, not even the best will stay out there long. but playing in england is a lottery. brave move from dhoni bowling twice and good on him. forecast is for heat - and could prove a masterstroke. but they have to hope the heat just doesnt come from humidity - cause england will eat them up.

We are scoring 450 and that's for sure.

hahahahahaahahah.

I'd be incredibly surprised if Dravid even makes it to double figures, he looks so uncomfortable. On the other hand, I never really knew how good VVS was, he looks fine out there given how well Broad and Anderson are bowling.

why didnt they appeal for lb on the dravid appeal? oh - cause indian rig the rules. lol. world no. 1 until they play by the rules. we have DRS on negativity yet? lol.

I think Dravid's look solid in defence. He's just got a few which would have been hard for anyone to negotiate.

But yes, VVS has looked so smooth. Well, until the ball from Broad, ouch.

Both these world class players are made to look vulnerable out there. But still, these two are our best chance of posting a good total

Well the hours play left is crucial. Even if India score 25 to 30 odd runs by the end of day losing one wicket I will be more then happy. Bresnan will be the one India could score off and pressurize him.

That was a good day's play. 24/1. Lets call it even.

England's bowling looking very dangerous but Dravid and VVS have done brilliantly to still be out there. They'll be hoping conditions ease up tomorrow.

I would say India are a bit ahead at that end of day's play. These two have survived 14.5 overs of torture and the ball is now 15 overs old and we have lost just one wicket (that too a wicket due to a poor shot from Mukund when he should have come in and defended). Most likely we might face the better of batting conditions on Day 2 (and possibly Day 3 if we last that long).

At first it was all India but the day was turned by that stunning knock from Broad, he is proving all us doubters wrong. England bowled well and although Dravid and VVS are still there they both look uncomfortable. If the pitch holds up I can see India being balled out even before the 200 mark.

Hardly. Atleast not when Morgan consistently fails to make it into double figures. Players who are technically solid can thrive under any condition in the longer format, and Kieswetter is just that. Plus both of them average just about the same in FC cricket, so not a bad proposal by any means in wanting him to be tested out.

Morgan doesn't convince me in 4-day or 5-day cricket but I can't see Kieswetter doing much better. I could score runs on the Taunton pitch and I've only ever scored twenty runs outside of colts cricket :p

A very even day in the end. India won the first hour, England won the second. India absolutely owned the afternoon session and England absolutely owned the evening session. Overhead conditions are set to change tonight in Nottingham (it's going to be nice and sunny tomorrow) but the pitch should remain juicy and interesting for the bowler. Bring on day two!

And as Zorax says, you have to ignore the West Indian bloke.
