England In India - October 2011/12

Hardly. Atleast not when Morgan consistently fails to make it into double figures. Players who are technically solid can thrive under any condition in the longer format, and Kieswetter is just that. Plus both of them average just about the same in FC cricket, so not a bad proposal by any means in wanting him to be tested out.

Its an awful proposal. There is only one man who should be called up and his names Taylor. Plus you don't use one of the biggest series in the world to test someone out you go with proven performers in the domestic stuff if you are to pick an uncapped player.

And as Zorax says, you have to ignore the West Indian bloke.

What's he doing? Is he trying to be funny or something?
I'm going to start deleting off-topic and pointless posts.

Regarding number 6 I've never been convinced that Morgan is the right player although he has got some useful assets. He can up the scoring rate and play unconventional shots to move the field around. Depends on what your number 6 is for. Is it a young player you're blooding into test cricket or a slogger?
Personally I think we have enough power down the order with Prior, Broad and Swann and would like to see some adventure from the selectors. Obviously not Kieswetter but maybe Taylor or Hildreth (not so young). Maybe even Sam Northeast...

I think india are going to rely on raina and yuvraj to really go past englands score.

If those two can take the intiative and attack they should be far more capable of making a decent score than broad and swann. but they are noobs in test cricket (or at least recalled noobs) and i think it would take a lot of guts to come on and just play their shots like that.

I expect them to come out look to be aggressive and knick off. Massive first 30 minutes tomorrow, if England get one or more the pressure might slowly swing around to being on India.

Broad fined for dissent | Cricket365 | Cricket News

Yes. 50%.

And don't even start the ICC picks on sub continent players bullshit. I went through every fine last time it was brought up and it was shown that Sub Continental players had significantly less fines.

The truth always looks bullshit to you. I think his father wasn't there at that match, otherwise, he wouldn't let his son been fined. :D

That was a good day's play. 24/1. Lets call it even.

England's bowling looking very dangerous but Dravid and VVS have done brilliantly to still be out there. They'll be hoping conditions ease up tomorrow.

Yep, felt that we were a little unlucky to not pick up another wicket or two tonight, but Dravid and Laxman fought well.

Shame I'll miss the rest of the match, could be a nerve racking few days!

I've missed today and will miss tomorrow but Sunday and Monday I'll be alright. Probably the best two days to watch judging by how things have gone.

I'll be missing Sunday but at least I won't be missing any of Dravid's innings and the fourth day when the match will be decided or will be heading in a certain direction.

There have been 6 days of fantastic cricket so far. It has been great to watch. I had lost interest in cricket for a few months before The Ashes but I'm in love with it again now. I just watch very little of Pakistan playing now because I don't trust them- with good reason. I felt a little cheated as a cricket fan last summer and began to become skeptical of everything I saw and I just didn't enjoy watching cricket anymore.

Morgan doesn't convince me in 4-day or 5-day cricket but I can't see Kieswetter doing much better. I could score runs on the Taunton pitch and I've only ever scored twenty runs outside of colts cricket :p
No draws at Taunton this year, so someone's obviously struggling to score enough.

James Taylor? Average 31 in Division Two, with no centuries, James Taylor? You have got to be kidding me.
