Walker isn't good in attack either though. He's literally just pace, and hype. Hype because his 11/12 went OK. Johnson is better than him but still terrible defensively.

Wing options always ENGs strong area even with Walcott out. Would love for A Johnson to be in the W-Cup if he maintains current form. But sadly given how i envision the squad might be balanced - A Johnson could be battling with Townsend & Sterling for one spot.

Walker isn't superb going forward of course, but you compare him to other notable full-backs in the continent leagues who like going forward but as suspect defensively like Marcelo, Debuecy, Alves, Alba, Alaba, Carvajal, Maicon, Armero, Zuniga, Abate, Maggio, Eboue, Van der Weil, Nagatomo etc etc - there isn't much to separate them in an attacking sense.

Totally disagree on Johnson, no way can one say he is terrible defensively these days. He equally solid in both facets. It was only recently Brendan Rogers & ESPNFCs Liverpool's blooger was highlighting this improvement:

There is little enigma regarding Glen Johnson, apparently. Glen Johnson is a very good footballer going forward. His defending, however, leaves a lot to be desired. His concentration is poor, his positioning is non-existent and his tackling is erratic. Until he improves on his defending ? and he is a defender, after all ? he can never be regarded as a quality full back. Perhaps he should play in midfield for Liverpool; perhaps he should not play for England at all.

Perception can sometimes be a footballer?s toughest opponent. The wizardry and majesty of a deft touch, or the brutality and barbarousness of an axe-like limb, is little compared to the challenge of shifting opinion. At least there is some sort of control over those. Just ask Johnson. The 28-year-old has spent the majority of his three years at Liverpool stopping those deft touches and dodging the executioner?s swing of a leg, but he hasn?t fully conquered the deft brutality of perception.

Now is the time to do so. Glen Johnson is a very good footballer going forward, and he is also, now, a very good defender; one of the most complete full backs in world football.

I think this will be a good lineup for England, all they need to do is sort out their formation for the forwards because they got talent.

Fraiser Forster
Glenn Johnson/Kyle Walker
Garry Cahill
Phil Jagielka
Leighton Baines/Ashley Cole
Steven Gerrard
Frank Lampard/Jack Wilshere
Wayne Rooney
Raheem Sterling
Danny Sturridge
Theo Walcott/Townsend/Oxlaide

Assigning midfielders and attackers will be difficult as all been in good form.

I read in the paper it might be Forster or Ruddy going to the World Cup, not both. Crazy in my opinion, they should both be going and not Ben bloody Foster.

Should get an oscar as well? Lol. Good for him though. EDIT: Or has he found out he has to play alongside Cleverley?
