I’m delighted England won but I’m even more delighted that just when we appeared to have some momentum building around 4 day tests, along comes a game like that which is good an advert for 5 day tests as you could wish for.
alongside the vocal defence of 5 day tests from prominent players (bravo Kohli*!) hopefully the 4 day idea disappears.
*i genuinely love kohli, as the only man who has ever got me interested in a T20. Forget the match for sure but if I recall rightly it was India v Aus at one of the WT20s and Aussies were all over India and he strolled out and smacked a 70-odd off nowt and it was awesome. Seeing him stand up for proper tests was ace.

Yeah. Anyone who thinks 4 day tests are a good idea after this can eat a dick imo. Ain't broke. Don't fix it. 4 days doesn't magically make it better, just dilutes what's already great about it
