ENGLAND MAINTAIN UPPER HAND AGAINST BANGLADESH
Vaughan hit 265 as England continued their dominance over Bangladesh in the 1st npower Test Match at Lords, after scoring a mammoth 661-5 in their first innings, and then reducing the visitors to 80-2 at stumps on day 2.

Resuming their overnight score of 385-4, England dint lose any wicket in the morning session, and crossed the 500 mark. Both Vaughan and Collingwood were scoring runs freely, and Bangladesh's bowling worries continued.
In the afternoon session, England lost the first wicket, that of Vaughan for 265 after the England captain was out stumped by Khaled Mashud off Mohammad Rafique. However after this Collingwood and Jones stepped up the run rate and by Tea had taken England's score to 661-5. Collingwood became the third centurion of the innings, finishing unbeaten on 129. England made their declaration at tea, and put Bangladesh into bad, needing 462 to avoid follow on.

And Bangladesh got off to a good start with both openers Javed Omar and Nafees Iqbal looking pretty good. The England bowling was disappointing, especially that of the opening bowlers, James Anderson and Martin Saggers, who were very inconsistent with their line and length.
Javed Omar and Nafees Iqbal had put up 67 on the board before Gareth Batty had Omar out LBW for 24 and Simon Jones beat Nafees Iqbal to have him out bowled for 35.

At stumps, Bangladesh were 80-2 from 25 overs, needing another 382 runs to avoid follow-on.
