Probably is relevant to this current tour too given that he missed selection. I do think Hales needs to be in the side if he is putting up these insanely good numbers.

Ashwin is still wicketless. I think there was some stat somewhere that indicated that if Ashwin doesn't get a wicket in his first 10-12 overs or so, he largely stays ineffective during the entire innings. On the other hand, the becomes very potent if he picks up a wicket early on or something along the same lines.....England doing well to keep him off.

Some selection changes... Lawrence in, Bess in. That's good I guess. In place of... Broad and Archer. Makes some sense. But - and this is a big but - WHY THE fearsome tweak ARE BAIRSTOW AND POPE STILL IN THE SIDE? I guess a couple of 20s is a plus, but I'm entirely unconvinced that shifting Ben Foakes to eight was the answer to this

It's the selection of a team that has no idea what the best XI is and has sent home its two best all rounders (aside from Stokes).
