Yes, but if they occur in bits and pieces, where's the consistency? You going far back to 2019 to prove your point is quite ridiculous.

If performances in Australia are to define the journey of a person in the Indian cricket team, pray tell why is Pujara not being considered further? Why isn't Siraj the numero uno bowler? Why isn't Washi Sundar in the thick of things?

Dropping a sitting vice-captain in a series without any reason is quite insulting. If you never wanted to play Rahane, you shouldnt have taken him to SA. If you took him to SA, you shouldn't have made him vice-captain.

Kohli has this weird habit of playing his favourites and that was evinced in the WTC Final Loss. Playing a team based on reputation can only get you that far. You cannot be a world-beater unless you play those in form.

Coming back to Pandya, agree that he was injured and that he hasn't had any match practice. Apply the no-match practice logic to others as well- haven't they performed well? 4 games without an impact vs not so powerful team isn't a valid excuse to continue with this guy.

You missed out on the fact that it was only 3 series prior to this. He has only failed to impress in this series. Barring that he is consistently improving himself. Rohit and Kohli are a big example of what backing the players with potential can do.
