Also - what is the criteria behind deciding "who is in close contact with a COVID positive player, and who is NOT"? Krunal has been with the tour squad since beginning and it makes me scratch my head as to how the XI guys who played today, were considered to be "not in close contact with Krunal Pandya". Sri Lankan fans as far as I'm aware are actually pleasantly surprised with their team's progress. Sure, they would wish for better fortunes. But this is still a marked improvement on the drudgery they were subjected to until recently, at least this side has some fight and spirit in it.

And calling this Indian side a 'Z team' is a bit disingenious given the ludicrous strength in depth of the side. There are multiple centurions in the strongest T20 league in this XI, a bowler with the best T20I figures, the only bowler to have been the highest wicket-taker in two seasons of the same league in addition to blokes like Kuldeep, Chakravarthy, Gaikwad and Rana.

They'll take a lot of confidence from beating a strong and well respected cricketing unit that is known in general as "Team India", even though on surface level they've had to play the most depleted team that could be assembled without calling off the series altogether. Either way, cricket has been missing a confident and competitive SL unit , hope they can build a decent team and bring back a couple experienced guys like K Perera, Mathews, Chandimal to support their young team.

This generations DK is marked out as Sanju Samson. I think he will find it difficult to make it to the Indian team with so many keeper batsmen around.
