Seriously I feel for Rahane. He is a serious talent and should be opening regularly in ODIs. Hasn't been given regular chances and hence bats under pressure. And gets an unplayable ball. I would love if he is told that you have one full series at least giving him the security and freedom to express himself.

Next ODI we play is in Champions trophy and we still need to figure out so many things. We are in some hole now.

You can't predict what will happen in 5 months time, same thing happened 4 years ago India then played the last odi (similar time)against England too ,Dhawan so no were near in the frame untill he got that 187 against Australia in Mohali and decision to open Rohit was bit of Gamble that eventually paid off.
So a lot of cricket will payed until the CT ,the ipl ,5 test matches and 3 t20s anything can happen in this period Rohit will be back and who knows maybe Shikhar Dhawan can pile up some runs and can cement his place in the side or newbie some like a Rishab Pant - a good Ipl or any of these players get injured.
5 months is too long time to predict just hope for the best.

Ya. I agree we play lPL and test matches. But KL was good in Test and T20 but failed in ODI. So, that's my concern. If we don't get any batsmen, I feel they will go with Dhawan considering he and Rohit go well and he was man of the series in last CT.

Yeah he did get the chances there agreed. But he should have been persisted with here too especially since we went to Dhawan now. Dhawan did nothing to be included in the squad.

All runs scored in Asia by Asian batsmen are because of the flat decks. All wickets taken are because of pitch doctoring. Cricketers should be judged solely on their performances in ENG/SA/AUS/NZ.

It will be a big shame if the management again lets go off Rahul for that ass Dhawan. Rahul is young, hungry and ready to be the guy in the long run. I also feel he will compliment Rohit really well.
