Buttner And Powell Scored On There Debut Buttner Even Assist Chicha Anyone Seen Evra Face After Buttner Scored Both Goals Were Awesome Scholes Scored On His 700 Appearance For United NANI Was A Flop Again

This whole terry/ferdinand saga is utter mess. Now he wont shake Cole's hand??

I shudder to think what will happen when United face Chelsea, this BS needs to stop.

Same old Liverpool. Did finally manage a goal from open play though. Sterling was incredible, AGAIN.

Somebody in FA better get into Sterling's ear and make sure he plays for England instead of Jamaica.

Pumped for the Man City game, I reckon we have a good chance of getting a win in all honesty, the team has been amazing.

Not to mention Man City will probably go all out on this CL match, whereas we don't need to play our 1st XI against a team almost in the relegation zone in the French league:D.

B?ttner had an impressive debut today, full of energy and running.

Very impressed with Buttner - and what a way for Powell to hit the ground running!

Anyone else think that Evra was thinking 'oh crap' when they showed his close up after Buttner's goal? ;)

Ha ha, clearly I'm not alone in my thinking:

Great to see City drop points as well, and even better to see that they're not looking anything like as composed as they did last season. You're there to be shot at now, lads. ;) I believe that round of games puts us ahead of them. :)

Edit: Special mention must go to Welbeck as well, who I thought was fantastic and really deserved a goal or two. For me, that has to rank among his best games in a Utd shirt. :)

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, City played Stoke away, you played Wigan at home.

It was pretty much one of the easiest games of the season for you whereas this is by far City's toughest game of the season against a club outside the top 6.

1-1 is a good result for them, you aren't miles ahead of them yet, if you are ahead of them at all (which I don't think you are, Aguero still isn't back yet).

Interesting to see Buttner doing well. Didn't the Dutch scouts themselves say he was only the 3rd or 4th best LB in the league? Bit of competition for Evra, but nothing more I reckon, he'll be back starting soon enough.

Somewhat good in the first half, but well his second half wasn't so good as the first half. Still a decent debut I guess.

Wasn't so good in the second half? You must have been watching a different QPR v Chelsea game. He wasn't great but did his job well when being called upon. And really, all he did in the entire game was producing two good saves to deny Torres and Hazard in the first half. Apart from that, we hardly even tested him at all.

I'd disagree with that, given city's record at goodison under mancini

Well physically, that was the toughest game.

Either way, my point still stands, it's too early for Utd fans to start creaming themselves just because they beat Wigan and City drew.

Yeeeeaaah, Villa grab their first win. A wondergoal from Lowton and the Beast that is Benteke scoring one on his debut, they're dubbing him as the new Drogba :p... To be honest I was aiming low to avoid to disappointment concerning where Villa would finish, preparing myself for a relegation battle. But, this performance along with one at Toon, looks to suggest that errr... we may not actually be that bad. Hopefully we can maintain and sustain attacking football like this under Lambert for the season ahead. Surprised considering our transfers in have predominantly been of the Championship calibre. Still, too early to get my hopes up though.

Lambert's a master of turning Championship level plodders into solid Premiership players, if his Norwich tenure is anything to go by.

True say there mate. Hopefully the same'll happen with us too.

Decent weekend for English players.

- Sterling obviously the standout. Hopefully he continues to dominate @ pool - big game for him next week vs United

- Lennon the forgotten winger, has been very consistent

- Defoe after not being trusted by club or country is proving his worth

- Kieran Gibbs looking the real deal at left-back. Suddenly with Baines and Bertrand around, Ash Cole has much challengers for his coveted left-back position

- Jonjo Shelvey and Huddlestone don't look too bad as mid-fielders for the future.

You forgot Powell - he's eligible for England isn't he? I really hope so. That goal was very Scholes like, and he played a beautiful long pass as well before it. :)

I know - I didn't say the two games bore any comparison and I'm not getting ahead of myself, but the fact is we're still ahead of them (I never said we're miles ahead though ;) ). And we're now only one point of the lead as well after Chelsea's dropped points vs QPR.

Edit: There's the proof.

You were ahead last year at a certain stage as well, so yeah. :rolleyes

In all seriousness, we really need to get our ---- together before it's too late. Our defense is very shaky, conceding goals on a regular basis now and on top of that we're giving the ball away far too much in midfield.
