Red Devils 'lodge David Silva bid'

David Silva in demand

David Silva's agent has claimed that Manchester United have made a 'firm offer' of ?30.75million for the Valencia and Spain playmaker.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Spanish winger since Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new manager at Old Trafford earlier this summer.

Speculation also surfaced on Tuesday suggesting that Real Madrid were preparing to table a bid for the player, although the Madrid club quickly dismissed the reports. David Silva's representative Jose Segui maintains that he has been contacted by Real Madrid scout Rene Costa, but he expects the 23-year-old to stay at the Mestalla.

Segui insists that Valencia president Manuel Llorente is determined to keep David Silva, and does not expect Manchester United to be successful with their opening bid. "I don't have an offer from Real," Segui told Madrid radio station.

"But a director from the club called me to see how things are going with the player. I told him that there was a firm offer from Manchester United for 39million euros (?30.75million) but that (Valencia president) Manuel Llorente didn't want to transfer him.

"I am a man and I don't lie and the director who called me is Rene Costa. I think it is difficult for David Silva to move to Manchester United and even more so to Real Madrid because of the rivalry that exists between the two clubs. I told the Valencia sporting director that Real called me but it's as if Valencia wanted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka."

David Silva wants Valencia stay

David Silva, a United target

Valencia playmaker David Silva has announced that he wants to stay at the Mestalla for a 'long time' following reported interest from Manchester United.

Rumour has been rife that the 23-year-old is on his way to Old Trafford, as manager Jose Mourinho attempts to strengthen the squad, which could be capable of winning both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

It was claimed that David Silva was attracted by the idea of playing at Old Trafford for one of the biggest clubs in England. However, David Silva insists he is happy with Valencia and is only thinking about life with the Primera Liga giants.

"I want to stay at Valencia for a long time," he told Spanish newspaper Marca. "I'm very happy and I want to continue. My head is calm, I want to have a good pre-season with Valencia and continue here."

David Silva has also been in talks with Valencia sporting director, during which it is believed a new contract was discussed. Yet neither the club nor the player have revealed the motive for these talks, with David Silva only saying: "It's between us."

David Silva is a class act. But then he will only leave Valencia when the club themselves are 100% ready to let him go and even in FM, I would expect a substancial bid to convince the Los Che board.

He is also a bit injury prone, in CM atleast.

David Silva: Playing for United a dream

David Silva has reportedly told Marca, the highly respected Spanish newspaper, that he wants to leave the Mestalla and play for Manchester United.

Valencia have been attempting to keep the Spanish winger out the clutches of Manchester United in recent weeks and even since failing to qualify for the Champions League the player has been alarmingly evasive about his future. The war of words between the two clubs has intensified in recent weeks, with Unai Emery claiming he would not allow both David Silva and David Villa to leave the club.

However, Marca claim to have carried out an exclusive interview with the 23-year-old in which he said: "I would like to play for Manchester United but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Valencia ask of them. However, it does not depend on me."

In the interview David Silva said he would not make any further comment on the story and only the two teams will be talking. "From today I'm not going to talk about this topic with anyone at all," he added. "The two teams only will be doing the talking. Don't ask me any questions because I won't answer."

Silva changed his tune rather quick you think :laugh. Great presentation Shan, really good work can't wait for the next update

David Silva: Manchester United bound

English radio station is reporting David Silva has signed for Manchester United in a ?35.5million deal, although his spokesman has countered that while an approach has been made no agreement has yet been struck.

Silva's agent, Jose Segui, reportedly revealed that a deal was agreed following talks between Manchester United chief executive David Gill and Valencia president Manuel Llorente and Segui.

However, David Silva's spokesman Pepe Gonzalez said: "David Silva will listen to Manchester United and decide whether or not to make the transfer. What I can say for certain is that the Red Devils and Valencia have not reached any agreement."

Earlier on Saturday the Spaniard reiterated his desire to stay at the Mestalla, amid reports Real Madrid had discussed with Valencia officials his possible transfer. It is United though who have stolen ahead of their Spanish counterparts in their efforts to land a player regarded to be one of the world's finest young winger.

David Silva told Marca on Tuesday: "I'm very happy and I want to continue, I want to have a good pre-season with Valencia and continue here.". But three days later he told the same newspaper: "I would like to play for Manchester United but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Valencia ask of them."

However, his declaration to the Los Che cause has failed to quell talk of a departure to ease the club's considerable debt. Valencia president Manuel Llorente intimated prior to the reports breaking in Spain that his club could lose their man.

"I do not know if we can keep David Silva at Valencia because they (United) have offered him so much money," he told Spanish news agency. "You can't keep someone against his will. I have not spoken with Segui yet."

Silva to be unveiled

Manchester United have confirmed that David Silva has successfully passed his medical with the Premier League champions.

The 23-year-old had already completed a first set of medical tests with United whilst on international duty in Spain prior to the official announcement of his transfer from Valencia on 26th July.

David Silva, who Manchester United have paid Valencia a fee reportedly in the region of ?35.5million for, will be presented by his new club at the Old Trafford in a press conference on Monday evening.

Funded by money available from Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer to Real Madrid, United are seeing a period of recruitment as they look to build a side that will ensure they defend the Premier League title for the third consecutive time and also regain the Champions League trophy.

Silva unveiled in a press conference

Manchester United's newest signing David Silva is relishing the challenge of playing in England's Premier League after starting his career in Spain with Valencia.

David Silva was unveiled by manager Jose Mourinho in a press conference at Old Trafford after completing his ?35.5million switch from Valencia upon completing his routine medical.

The 23-year-old admitted a childhood ambition to play at the Old Trafford. Delighted with the move, he described Manchester United as the 'best club in the world' in his speech to a packed press conference at Old Trafford.

"I'm absolutely delighted to become a Manchester United player, the best club in the world," he said. "I'm delighted to be able to play for the same club as one of my idols played for, Ryan Giggs."

"I hope to do better than I did in Valencia. I'm looking forward and I'm very confident I can achieve that. When you play for a big team there's pressure on your back. I have pressure. It's not a problem. I'm still confident. I think I'm at the right club to keep progressing in my career. I'm very focused to do a good job and to show the people that I'm a good player."

Jose Mourinho who unveiled his first ever signing at Manchester United said to MUTV: "He is a quality player. He is physical and also has the pace for the English game. He is a regular for the Spain international team, which has a lot of competition for places.

"I am very happy that we have finally landed him as we had tough battle against Real Madrid, who have loads of money to spend. Anyways, I am sure he will be a hit over here at Old Trafford and he would surely be loved by the fans when they watch him play for us."

Brown completes Sunderland transfer

Wes Brown leaves United after 13 years at the club

Sunderland have confirmed the signing of Manchester United's England defender Wes Brown. Black Cats have agreed a fee of ?10m with United and finalised personal terms with the 29-year-old on a four-year deal.

"Hopefully I can be part of a squad to challenge for a European spot," the centre-back told Sunderland TV. "With the experience gained from last season and with the new players brought into the squad this year, maybe it might help us go that bit further."

Brown, who spent thirteen years at United, becomes Sunderland's ninth summer signing and takes their spending to ?40m.

Villa have also recently signed centre-back Puola da Silva from Deportivo Toluca and completed a player exchange deal for Hull centre-back Michael Turner to strengthen their defence following the departures of Danny Collins to Stoke and Paul McShane to Hull.

The new club skipper Lorik Cana said: "He's has appeared for England many times, he has also played for Manchester United many times. You love to see players like that coming to this club.

"Danny Collins was a big player for us, with his presence and his influence. But he, like Dean Whitehead, is now gone and we need to get on without him. The arrival of Wes Brown will help us to do that."

There had been speculation surrounding Brown's future at Manchester United following the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho at the club. Brown has appeared more than two-hundred times for his childhood club but many-a-times has been sidelined due to injury.

Sunderland have also added Boudewijn Zenden, Fraizer Campbell, Darren Bent and Lee Cattermole to their squad this summer.

El Shaarawi to join Petrucci and Macheda at United

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of the Italian under-20 midfielder Stephan El Shaarawi from the Italian club Genoa AFC.

The 16-year-old, who has three caps for Italy under-20, has agreed a four-year contract at Old Trafford. Genoa president Enrico Preziosi confirmed earlier today the transfer fee for El-Shaarawi was ?2.5m.

The attacking midfielder joins his compatriots Federico Macheda and Davide Petrucci at Old Trafford. He told the club's website: "I know a lot about Manchester United, I have been following them. I play together with Kiko and Davide in the under-20 international team and have spoken to him about Manchester United."

He added: "I am a attacking midfielder, I have a lot to offer and for sure to progress and I will show everyone why I am at United." El-Shaarawi also revealed that he had a trial at Newcastle in January.

Preziosi announced El-Shaarawi's departure for the Premier League this morning. Genoa said on their website: "The success was down to the fact that the money does not come in instalments, but immediately."
