@ Jordox, I have actually seen a doctor, she said I need to avoid soft drinks and juices which I take too much daily but sure I will ask her about the fasting next time.

Chill up, nothing's gonna happen if you are of type 2 and not much even if you are of type 1, but you need to keep things in control, that's it..

I have Type 1 diabetes for good 10 years, so don't worry..:)..

Well I am not sure about the Type 1 thingy but the doctor said I have high sugar level when I visited to get some white spots on my body treated but I am sure it can be harmful in future that's why I am trying to control it by drinking Coke or Pepsi Diet only :D

No fasting for me. I cant live without heavy breakfasts.

If you wana danger you life by starving yourself for something that probably doesnt exist then go for it. Think its a waste of your life though... i warned you.

my levels from the past week are ranging from 270 to 310, and it's due to eating some energetic food of the fasting season, ........it's how it goes, even if you fast for 6 hours, your sugar levels may get low if you already have less than 120-150 before breakfast, and by the evening (considering if you have been fasting all the time) levels can get to 80-90, doesn't matter, but you'll have something like your stomach protesting for food:p, you can't bear it and get weak, (and this is a routine experience for me..) so, the basic point which i'm coming to is that when you take any energetic food like glucose biscuits or sweets, it'll pump you to 200 or above normal levels at least (depending on how much sweet content you've taken) so, there's not much to worry.. the levels won't go too low, and the basic thing you need to take care is to have levels above 150 - 180 in the morning on a general basis, i.e; not too high, not too low, so even when you fast, it doesn't effect your health other than "brrrr" sounds and feelings like black holes in your stomach..

My opinion is don't drink too much diet coke, avoid it from getting past the limits, and take as many fruits, that too the one's which are healthy and not harmful to your health like apples, water melon, etc; ....and there's a point, don't take fruits like banana, sugar canes, and fruits like that which can be as harmful as they can.. and eat cashew regularly, which keeps a good balancing and support to the controlling medicines which you are taking..

These are general things to know if you fast:p i might sound difficult and hard to follow, but once you get an idea on how to control your problems, it's normal and feels like you're leading a normal life:)

I assume your Type 2;..

I dont fast at all.I enjoy eating food. :D

Trust me, fasting just shows you the importance of something we intake in our daily life for granted.

IMO it helps you become a better person.

Man you sound like a family doctor :p...

Well thanks for those tips but I am sure I can't follow any of them :p... I will try to keep them in my mind though whenever there is danger ;)

I hope the REAL diabetes treatment will soon enough be all around the world, so you can fast after a very short period of your diabetes cause.. unlike me:p..

100% confidence bro, technology is soo advanced, there must be treatment for anything in the next 10-20 years maybe even less god willing.

I take only half glass of milk in breakfast. So no chance for fasting as i eat a lot in lunch.

I could probably fast seeing as I only snack for Breakfast and Lunch, I only eat heavily at night for Dinner, So i reckon I would be more than capable of fasting....Without suffering so much :p

According to Hindu tradition, fasting means not eating till night. Nothing in breakfast also.
